We landed in Langkawi and were looking forward a great holiday with the kids. This was definitely not to be.

Check in-It took forever as reception was understaffed and no provision was made by management to ensure adequate staff or help. This was tiring as it was very hot in the afternoon and the reception is not airconditioned. With energetic twins under 4, you can imagine we how we spent most of the time there As we had booked two rooms , we requested for double beds in both rooms. The staff had reception, acknowledged that but didn't bother and ...

Room- Guess what we were given one with twin beds. Then once in the room noticed that there was dust under chair and bed . More like fluff balls of dust. Wonder what the cleaning staff really do. The cupboards had dust in them too and most of my clothes got dust on it too as I didn't think cupboards would have dust.
The next day the air conditioning stopped working, we made a complaint and while a maintenance guy came, said it would few hours and reception would call us. Guess what they didn't . So we had to call. Finally they moved us after much time to another floor and rooms next to each other so we could be close to the kids and their nanny., Here too lots of dust, toilet not in perfect condition. etc.........

Restaurant- Anjung Brasserie. Dinner on the first day-Hot as a oven and even though we complained not much they did and provided us with a lousy aircooler which did not work. Got our orders wrong, didn't bring everything and charged us for what was not brought. When we complained this was reversed.
Breakfast was included in the room price- So we had breakfast in the same restaurant.Found fruit flies on the dried fruit near the cereal and flies around too. Other hotels find ways to manage this. I guess here the guys haven't or maybe that is a free additional extra.....On Saturday they could barely keep up with the breakfast crowd and serving dishes were empty often.Food not too great here.

Overall an unpleasant experience and I couldn't wait to get home. The hotel is in a fairly nice location and instead of playing to to strengths, guests are let down badly in terms of lack of attention to detail in terms of service and its property.Does need a major revamp as furnished are old, dirty and dated. Only saving grace the Arab restaurant, fairly decent food and competent staff at the guest centre.

Wished I went somewhere else coz Langkawi is a beautiful place and a nice clean hotel with good service would have been icing on the cake..Hotel is definitely not worth the price I paid.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Langkawi Lagoon. The hotel and amenities were clean and we found the rooms to be spacious. The beds were on the hard side (especially the day bed) but this is not out of the ordinary for most Asian hotels. The kitchenette is useless as there is nothing supplied (no cutlery or crockery, washing implements, pots or pans etc). This was a disappointment as this was my main reason for booking here but as it turned out we didn't really need the kitchen anyway.
The breakfast selection was good but someone really needs to show the chefs how to cook an egg over easy. If you are fussy on your eggs, as I am, just order them scrambled as then you can't really go wrong. The amenities are good, we enjoyed the pool but because the weather is so hot the water is not refreshing as it too is very warm.
I experienced a spa treatment (I had the facial). Not like anything I have had here in Australia, my therapist was quite rough, I felt quite uncomfortable and did not feel relaxed nor did I really enjoy the experience (but my skin did feel and look great afterwards). One other complaint I had was that the hotel staff would have known from my booking, as I did make this as a special request, that we required 3 beds. However when we arrived after 12 hours of travelling the day bed had not been made up and it took 1 hour and 2 phone calls for this to finally happen.
I have been quite picky with this review but we really did overall enjoy our stay at Langkawi Lagoon and yes I would return.

Me and my partner stayed in the resort for 2 nights. It was a wonderful experience. We took the sea view deluxe room. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the GM.
Location was very quiet and not much to do at that area. However, the resort is only 10-15 mins ride to Pentai Cenang/ Cable car. The restaurants in the hotel serve very nice food although the prices are quite steep. Do try the pizzas they sell at Laguna Bistro (at the beach).

Made a Langkawi trip from KL at the last minute and found a room here. The staff was very polite and welcoming, offering us 2 welcome drinks upon our arrival. The room was very adequate, however looks were deceiving. There was a kitchnette with the room which was very convenient. The beds were ok, however, we were offered a 2 single bed room, not a king or a full bed, which my wife wasn't very happy about. The A/C unit was louder than usual.

The F&B at this hotel is quite obscure. The breakfast spread is lacking, the omelette station also doesn't open until 2 hrs after breakfast starts (????), also it is quite insulting to offer orange drinks at a 4 star establishment. Dinner wasn't much better.

The location of this hotel is great, overlooking a beach, made for some great scenic views at sunset. We did enjoy this aspect very much!

Stay here, but at your own risk.
