My fiancé and I were lucky enough to end up on a private kayak tour with Jerome earlier this month (July) and had a brilliant time, in fact this has to be one of the highlights of our trip to Langkawi. Jerome's knowledge of the Mangrove was superb, and he was happy to help us out with his local knowledge. The trip itself wasn't to physically challenging, yet you do get a good work out and feel fabulous afterward. Lunch included in the tour, a soup, meat and rice combo (delicious). He also provides a free litre of water for the kayak. We were able to see another side to Langkawi, again with Jerome explaining the ins and outs of the geography.
I would suggest you do try in get in a small group for the kayak tour (<4-5pax) otherwise you will start to lose the "guided" part of the tour. So in the high season, it would be worth asking for a private tour.
Maybe slightly expensive, we paid 220RM per person, maybe 180RM would be a bit more appropriate. Only negative - and a small one at that, and in all honesty its not big enough to impact the stars!
Highly recommended, remember to brig hat (that has some string so it can't fly away), mosquito repellent (IMPORTANT!) and sunscreen, towels, change of clothes for the ride home, and a can do attitude! Have fun! and thanks Jerome and Dev's tours for a great day!
