Just back from Langkawi and after eating in a number of restaurants the Bon Ton gave a wonderful authentic Malaysian feel. It was not the most expensive but the food was great and the choice of local desserts was wonderful. I would recommend the local tasting desserts, one being a black rice in a gorgeous cream something. We decided to go back on our last night just for the desserts. If we go back to Langkawi this is one of the hotels we would stay in the other being the Datai. The Bon Ton felt blissful the staff were very friendly and great with children. The owner also has a cat and dog sanctuary, and given some of the pitiful creatures we saw around the island was highly commendable and well worth supporting. They also have a great gift place with some beautiful items in jewelry, fabrics and glass. I am not very good with heat and it was my first visit to Malaysia so it took me awhile to adjust, around four days, but if I was going back I would stay somewhere while adjusting ( with air conditioning) then try the Bon Ton. To sum up if you can handle heat and want a Malaysian experience try here!
