Last time we stayed at Datai (2011) they were re-building this restaurant. For still very good - could recommend virtually all dishes from the menu - right length. We ate there three times.
Good idea of having wines by the glass (good choice that include Cloudy Bay, top Alsace, white burgundy from Louis Latour).
I would say that the new location is not as romantic as the old one as now one does not hear the sea, Also, they say the noise of frogs is not recorded, however not so sure.
Perhaps there are other places that serve tasty Malaysian food as this in Langkawi, but I would not think that the tastes are so clean (one can identify separate spices if trained to do so, but they are blended to give the correct flavour to the dish. Of course, it cannot be cheap as it is part of a luxury hotel. Also, not for vindaloo/lager lovers.
