Stayed here as it has a convenient location. The hotel was the Equatorial Hotel before this recent rebranding. Service during check-in leaves much to be desired. We drove from Penang and arrived here after 4 pm and yet the rooms were not ready for us even though check-in is supposed to be at 3pm. Had to wait half an hour. Rooms given were old and smelt of cigarette smoke even though I had requested for smoke free rooms. The last time we were given higher floor and lovely view rooms. Anyway, we were here for only a night so we did not make a fuss of this. Wifi was fast and free. May return because of its location but might try the new hotel which is now open in front of this hotel.

Stayed here to celebrate my birthday with my partner. Booked the room thru their brand website at reasonable price (promotion price). Reached the hotel at 12pm. Lobby was huge and spacious. Fortunately we are able to get the room at 12pm. Probably occupancy was low.

Room was quite spacious and comes with balcony. They upgraded our room which was part of the promo deal that i booked. The room has been refurbished. However, the carpet at the corridor need to be clean as i could see the stains.

We redeemed our welcome drinks at the designated outlet. They need to change the welcome drinks, as it was awful and I do not know what was that. It's like a mix cordial and topped with cream.. Really terrible. The F&B Manager need to do something about it !

Breakfast selection was ok. Overall experience was ok, Do not expect 5 star service with the price you paying. They just need keep the rooms and public areas clean.

Initially we booked deluxe room from agoda, but I think they gave us the wrong room which is standard room (with no balcony and settee), then we managed to change to deluxe room after viewing the standard room that they gave us.
After one night stay in deluxe room, we decided to upgrade to executive suite.
Below are my impression for 3 rooms :

Standard room @non smoking floor
Small room
No sofa settee
No balcony -therefore the room not very good ventilate.
Newly renovated

Deluxe room @ smoking floor
Bigger room with sofa settee
With balcony therefore more ventilation
Full equipped with iron board and iron ,fridge, cater, hair dryer .
Power point socket at both bedside
Newly renovated
Bed not comfortable

Executive suite @ smoking floor
Huge and comfortable room
Two tv
Huge bathroom (thought bit old)
A bit wear off (the room is quite old)
Full equipped with iron board and iron ,fridge, cater, hair dryer, DVD player
Three balconies and full windows
Nice scenery

As per the price per room, I think it is an acceptable stay.

Its a Huge hotel and there are lot of guests and while you check in the front desk might struggle a bit if you arrive early, however the staff is very friendly and accommodated our request for a high floor. This is the highest hotel in cameron Highlands and we choose a higher floor, the view from our room was really nice and we could see the amazing sunrise. The hotel is a bit old and furnitures were not totally renovated. The high ceilings gave a different perspective.

Room Tip: 1. Take a higher floor room at the left corner to enjoy the sunrise over the mountains from your coz...

This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for a very long time. Large, bare rooms (minimal furnishing), dirty linen (we had to get housekeeping to change everything from the comforter to the pillowcases, etc.) and the bathroom looked like it was going to fall apart. The shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold! The room smelled dusty and musky so thankfully there were a number of windows that we could open to air out the room.

The service is appalling. We checked-in past 4pm (check-in time is at 3pm) and were told that our room wasn't ready and that it would be another 40 minutes (we were eventually given our room 20 minutes later). Front desk didn't offer any apologies but gave us a voucher for 2 fruit punches at the bar, which was closed for a private function. Housekeeping didn't apologise for the dirty and ripped sheets either.

Location-wise it isn't that great either. Apart from the few shops and restaurants on the property itself, you have to drive to get everywhere else.

The only good thing was the food at breakfast and the wait staff at the coffee house were efficient and attentive.

Did not use the pool but from what I saw, it looked like it could use a good clean!

Never again.

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

The Copthorne is ideally located to walk to markets, butterfly farm and strawberry farm. However, it is a large hotel that claims to be 4 star, but really just makes three.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the Saturday night buffet was quite good, but the restaurant gets very busy to the point of overcrowded. Drinks at the Cricket bar were quite expensive (about US$9 for a beer).
The restrooms in the lobby were dirty and well overdue for a clean.
The hotel was at maximum capacity, so perhaps things would be better at a quieter time.

Room Tip: Try to book mid week when it is more quiet
