“Great satay and more!”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Satay Zul has long been a feature at Jalan Telok Sisek. It is a two storey corner shop lot which appears simple. But once you step in and see the crowds, you will realise it is something special. The food is at least.

Their satay is great - delicious and tender, and there's a variety of satay from beef, chicken, tripe (perut), sometimes venison & rabbit is also available. Other than satay, they also serve other malaysian favourites like soto ayam, noodles, ais kacang etc. So even if there is a stay-non-lover in your group, there will still be plenty of choice.

They are only open in the evenings. Friday and Saturday evenings are always very busy so be prepared that you might not get a place. Service can also be slow.

Satay Zul does have another outlet at Malay Town, Kuantan (opposite the stadium and opposite East Coast Mall) which is newer but smaller. The food is of a similar standard.

“Good for satay take aways......”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Always crowded and noisy. Very popular with Malay families. Does not serve beer / alcohol so rarely use this restaurant except for takeaways, as I live just round the corner. The place is on a busy street junction and car parking is difficult.

“Must try in Kuantan”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

Tried the satay many years ago. Tried again recently and the taste is still good. We had it at a branch nearer to ECM shopping centre. A food must try when travelling in Kuantan

“Good Place, Good Food”
Reviewed 6 February 2014

How convinient, the outlet was just walking distance from our hotel. Specialized in Satay however other food like, Nasi Lemak some local dishes was available. The peanut gravy for Satay was awesome and the satay texture and taste was good. The 'sambal' for Nasi Lemak was excellent too, also 'Assam Boi' drink was beyond this world.

However, the restaurant was busy therefore we waited quite long for our food to be served which made the Satay little cold. Other than that, all was good and value for money.
