“Drastically improved”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013

Was disappointed earlier this year, food was tasteless and restaurant full of flies, but decided to try again.

So end of july 2013 we went 2 nights in a row and tried Malaysian, Indian and Chinese food and must admit they are back in business. The quality and taste of the food has been improved drastically. It ain't cheap, but so is Cherating steakhouse.
And the Hyatt is the only place in Kuantan close to the beach where you can drink a beer and have this kind of food.

Average price per night was RM 165 for 2 persons. And... there were less flies!
We are going back soon.

“Feast for the senses”

Superb view for local dining. Prices are reasonable considering it's in the Hyatt. Buffet dinners on weekends a must!

Nice variety of Malay, Indian, Chinese and international food with open air setting just above the sandy beach and crashing surf.

“Don't believe the bad reviews”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2012

Highly recommended.
Its breakfast buffet is top notch. Its weekday dinner buffet is good.
But the place really shines on the weekend. Starting on Friday night, they specialize in a particular cuisine.
Fortunate for me for this month, they are focusing on grill seafood. They have nine to ten seafood item in raw form including lobster and shrimp. Pick your fish of choice and then the chefs will grill it in front of you on hot coals. For 66 riggits (~$20 including tip), it is a bargain.
The service is good and the ambience... you are enjoying the meals in front of the South China Sea. What else can be said.
One recommendation is to grab a bottle of wine from the bar during happy hour. It will save you a few bucks.
