The resort is a real pampering treat. It is ideal for couples mostly. The villustrated are the best with private pool. There is also a cave for meditation which it is said can reenergize you. Personally, I do not believe. However, it is a place where you can fill good. The food is great and simple. Good variety. The service is throughout the resort impeccable.

Me and my wife stayed in The Banjaran for 3 days in the Garden Villa. We took a package called "A Pampering Affair". The details of the package can be found on the official website.

The great Banjaran experience starts the moment we walked into the reception. We were welcomed by our names and the check-in process makes you feel like a king. Then we went on the buggy, where our butler bring us on a tour around the resort and finally to our villa.

The villa is very well maintained and clean. With a private pool, deck chairs, outdoor lounge chair, geothermal hot spring jacuzzi, we could stay in the villa all day. Maybe that's what most couple will be doing, because we hardly see anyone outside, only during meal times we can see the other guests. That's what we liked most about this resort. We went to the steam cave, a natural sauna in a cave heated by natural hot spring, dip into the ice bath, do some meditation in the crystal cave, which is a small cave with crystals all over the wall to absorb our negative energy, do the fish spa in the Dr fish pool, all without having to share or wait for our turns. You will feel like you booked the whole place.

The next day we went for the Malay Ramuan journey for couple, which is included in our package. This is done in a couple room, with 2 massage beds, an outdoor tub for milk bath and outdoor rain shower, all in one room. Both of us liked it very much.

As The Banjaran promotes healthy lifestyle, there is only one restaurant in the property called The Pomelo, which served healthy food. Some may say that the menu is very limited, but for our 3 days stay, we think that it is good enough. Although longer than that you might feel bored with the choice. But I believe that you can request the chef to prepare some new menu if you are staying there for a longer period. Anyway, we enjoyed the food.

This is the place where you can really rest and relax and I would strongly recommend it.

Room Tip: I would recommend garden villa for more privacy as it is surrounded by walls all over. Whereas the water villa is facing a small canal, and guests or staff walking from across the canal will be able to see the balcony area

I went there with my girlfriend for her birthday mini trip (we both from Ipoh) and this is the most relaxing hotel i ever stay! With tranquil, relaxing and rejuvenating surroundings, i can say this is one of the top resort in Malaysia. The villa we stayed come with their own geothermal pool (directly from natural hot spring) and private pool too. Best of all, the resort even included a nice cd and it really lighten up the mood. Just imagine relaxing in your own pool listening to the soothing music. Although the villa included everything and most probably you don't feel to venture out, i will still suggest you went outside and enjoy other facilities too (HOT SPRINGS DIPPING POOLS, STEAM CAVE, ICE BATH and DOCTOR FISH POOL (i really enjoyed this both!) Best of all, they even provide a mini cake for my girlfriend and provide a nice nightly turndown service on our bed! At night, i will highly suggest you visit the Jeff Celler and enjoy the wine or cocktail there. If you lucky, you can even view some of the most expensive wine collection. One thing that we feel abit disappointed was the breakfast. There is not much choices/selection and the mini buffet more like a mini salad/fruit with some breads ><'' Still, we enjoyed our 1 night stay there. Highly Recommended! (if you don't mind the price)

A beautiful resort, quiet and relaxing, with absolutely first class amenities and unique outdoor, private pool and hot tub inside your private villa walls. Mood lighting, soft music, and rose petals sprinkled on the bed at turn-down! A fine restaurant, several pools and spas, and beautiful vistas. My wife and I thought this was about as perfect as a resort can get!

Room Tip: We stayed in the one of the villas, and found it simply wonderful.

While anyone could find minor issues at any accommodation, we found it very difficult to fault Banjaran.

Negatives first - and we really had to think hard for this.

Agree with other reviews that the dining menus are a little limited for choice - that said, everything we ate was first class!

My understanding was that this was an adults only resort and while we were there a couple with small children were at the resort. On this occasion it didn't matter because they were very well behaved kids, but the resort needs to be careful not to impact patron's enjoyment by opening it up to children (no offence to anyone with kids!).

There was a faulty step going into the meditation cave (funnily enough the step that warns people to watch their step); but we reported this so hopefully it gets fixed.

Really though, we were nit-picking even to find these negatives.

Positives: where to start?

This is an amazing place of extreme natural beauty and you are serviced by what we felt were the happiest, most polite, professional, well trained staff in Malaysia. Kudos to Banjaran for their recruitment.

Everything about this place screams relax! From the relaxing music played throughout the entire resort; to the day spa massages; the meditation cave to the villa itself with multiple places to sit and read or contemplate the world. It really gives the feeling of being on a deserted island (a very well equipped one) due to the small number of villas (only 25) and the general surrounding environment. At times we felt like it was all there just for us and I don't know how many people were booked in while we were there but we often went hours without seeing anyone else.

Pool - lovely temperature, nice comfy lazy-boys to lay on, plenty of sun or shade and stunning views.

Meditation Cave - our absolute favorite of the entire resort (and we don't even meditate)! We did take cushions from the couches in the cave and lay down and just relax looking at the second-to-none view inside the cave. Simply extraordinary. We disagree with other reviewers about it being too dark. The lighting was perfect and enhanced the experience.

Steam Cave and dipping pool - this was a sight to behold and a great experience. Well worth some time to build up a sweat and then go in the dipping pool. It would be great if the pool was a plunge pool (deeper) but as it was it was still great.

Jeff's Cellar - this too is an amazing architectural feat. Who would think to build a bar/cellar in a cave and then design it so beautifully. We enjoyed a cocktail in the cave and were taken into the actual cellar and were able to see the great collection of wines including some rare examples. If we knew in advance that we could get food in here we would have had a late dinner snack.

Over water Villa - our villa was number 25 which is only just 'over the water' ( but still beautiful. Well appointed with everything you go expect or possibly need/hope for. The small pool was all that was needed to cool off in privacy and Jacuzzi was lovely. The shower was spacious and the toiletries provided were high quality. We had more towels than we needed (which is great for a resort that has many water activities) as there is nothing worse than using wet towels or not having fresh ones! The villa was unique in design with the central area (dining, lounge, pool) being outdoors but covered, with an amazing view of the mountains.

Geothermal hot springs dipping pools - excellent experience and we did these numerous times during our stay. The overhead showers help when you get too hot and a few steps away is the beautiful swimming pool for further temperature adjustment. A unique experience and plenty of photo opportunities.

Staff- cannot fault. Happy, friendly, courteous, professional staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Their English is also excellent and we felt they were the best staff we encountered during our two week holiday in Malaysia!

While we weren't on a honeymoon, this would be a great location for such an event, plenty of privacy and relaxation as well as plenty to see and do within the retreat - 2 days was not long enough - we seriously considered extending our stay even though we had already purchased our next accommodation back in KL.

The view, the Villa, the caves, the day-spa, the location etc. etc. Go there - you will not be disappointed! Take a waterproof camera to get some amazing location photos!

Room Tip: We had villa 25 which is the last over water villa. It was well away from the restaurant etc. and very private (but I don't think it would matter which villa you choose).
