“Small town standard, don't expect too much”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

Stayed here 1 night while visiting to the Tambun Lost World park, convenient as it is just across the road. However, don't expect it is any luxury hotel operated by Sunway, as this hotel looks like it has been modified by combining a row of shoplots to become what it is today, low rise, with long corridor. If you walk from one end to another end, it could be tiring after a long day in the water park. Breakfast was served at the park itself as there is no restaurant in this hotel and Ipoh being famous for all variety of foods, Lost World Hotel seems very lost here by providing terrible food. Well, there is a Papparich at the hotel, however, if you have transport, try somewhere else.

Room is clean, and noise insulation is not good. This hotel is mainly for people visiting the park for fun, so expect noise and party in your neighbour rooms till late night.

This hotel is adjacent to the Lost World of Tambun Theme Park. The hotels in Ipoh itself are nothing to write home about and so if you are visiting the theme park you may as well stay here.

The rooms are clean and look quite newly furnished. Huge king sized bed which easily took two adults and a five year old girl. 280 RM a night.

However, there are no public areas in the hotel nor any restaurants. Breakfast is taken in the theme park across the road. When the theme park shuts then there is no where to eat on site. The staff did not seem to be very knowledgeable about local eating options, probably because there didn't seem to be that many. We ended up in central Ipoh where we found the excellent Plan B in the old town.

The theme park is excellent.

Checked in late about 10 pm, had to haul all my bags myself. Seems like they have minimum staff during off-peak days. Took the suite, had a nice spacious room, however there were some issues.
Firstly, there were no suitable kids channel on TV (I thought Lost World of Tambun is a kids attraction, and should be more kid friendly) though I had 2 TV's and to make things worse even Vision 4 was not operational despite many calls to the staff. DVD player was provided but no DVD available for rental, etc. Room was clean and comfy, with good towels and linen. Due to non-existent TV, DVD and snail paced Wi-Fi, one half of the suite was literally unused. Bathroom had a modern design but poor workmanship is apparent when used. My towel rail actually fell off as it was not properly bolted to the wall. Parking for cars is open air, first come first serve basis, and maybe quite a walk during peak days.
Plus point; they had a good breakfast spread. Location is good convenient for the water park, however they should allow better privileges for hotel guests such as multiple park entries, purchase of tickets at the hotel, etc.
Same issues during check out, be prepared to haul and load your own bags as they are busy even with a few guests only, even though the time I checked out was not during peak time.
Its a comfortable place to stay next to the park, if you have young children and would like to spend time at the park at a reasonable price.

I stayed at the Classical Room for RM600 per night (you can get discounts if you use certain credit card), the super single bed is huge and very comfy as well. Shared the room with my friend and we had no qualms at all. Just wished the iron was provided. The hotel is also very near to the theme park therefore walking back after a night at the hotspring spa is no problem at all. I slept like a baby throughout the night. Breakfast service is at the Theme Park though, but never mind you can just walk there with your robe on hehe..

Planned to stay for a night.. Extended to 2 nights due to visit to Lost World of Tambun with kids.
Hotel room big enough to accommodate 2 adults + 3 children aged 8, 5 and 3 with an extra bed.
Basic toiletries included. We got the back garden view which was blah.. Didn't try the hotel breakfast coz just had to have breakfast at Ipoh town so can't say anything about that. Overall, nice hotel for a scheduled trip to the park. Great reception staff.

The room is comfy and just nice. The bathroom is superb with everything equiped. The cheerful mood is on since the main theme of the room is orange. Even had a door in the middle for those sharing rooms, so the room gets larger when we have friends staying next door. Overall, the hotel was just nice for me. Just one thing, don't put your key cards near your phones.

The room is quiet roomy and spacious, simple and clean design. Surprisingly I slept very well during the getaway because I'm the kind of person that can't sleep well. It's average based on the Hotel Room because is quite pricey compared for such a room. So far so good as the room is not stinking, you know, sometimes you might get a stink room which is unbearable. :)

Well, it's only a night with a pleasant experience, you may take a look with my rating. Free wifi available at my zone, it's fast so we won't lost contact with outside world although looks like we were in the middle of nature place, surrounding by cave, mountains and highway.
