Not a favourite from our visit to Ipoh, but certainly worth some time. The cave wasn't as good as others. We opted to hike to the top, but with hindsight, it wasn't worth all that heat and exertion. The views disappointed.

Probably one of the best cave temples I've visited. Immediately cooling once you walk in, much appreciated after a hot day. Carpark is technically 'free', but some guy will approach you and ask for a parking fee of your choice. I gave RM5 but it depends on the individual.
Next was the climb to the top which will close at 4 pm, so please take note. Was in for a shock when I had to climb up the stairs with little information on the highest point so each step up I was thinking how long more till we reach the top.
Was greeted with an okay view, but appreciate the cool winds. Climbing down was slightly challenging as my partner was afraid of heights and the steps are quite steep. Cooled off with a coconut and ice cream at the small stall at the foot of the temple.
The first place I went to during the short trip to ipoh. It's quite nearby to the city center and one can easily get a cab (Grab). Wasn't having high hopes and it looked like a typical Chinese Buddhist Temple from outside. But I was taken in by surprise as I stepped inside, the temple was housed inside a cave, and the walls of the cave were adorned in beautiful paintings. The place is very peaceful and there are a flight of stairs that leads to the top of the cave and it provides a bird's-eye view of the city. However it's quite challenging to get to the top, but it's all worth the time.
Can have leisure walk, local coconut , some souvenirs, chinese chest and traditional Buddhism music as well.
If you have seen other cave temples in Malaysia, this place may not impress you that much, but if you have not, you will certainly enjoy the visit. The entire complex is in a cave and it is still a functioning temple with priests and worshippers practicing their religion on a regular basis. It is recommended to have decent clothes when entering the temple.
The place is reasonably well kept. The cave is a huge one and there is a staircase to go up to the limestone hill to have a good view.
Be careful of the monkeys around as they are like snatch chiefs, sneaking behind you to snatch whatever you are holding.
