Review of Art of OLDTOWN

Art of OLDTOWN
Ranked #5 of 83 things to do in Ipoh

Some of the murals are hard to find but well worth the search. It's Ipoh, so it's hot and sweaty work, but your search takes you through the atmospheric alleys of Old Town.

We had fun acting silly & goofing around taking pictures in front of the murals. They were beautiful!

the mural basically represents malaysian culture and heritage. i like the idea of painting traditional dance/music of malay, chinese and indian as the tradition is almost forgotten in modernization. though they are not 3D mural street art like in georgetown penang, but there is value of the art. the mural is also vibrant and colorful which also make them more interesting. other than cultural things, the mural features ipoh in the past. tin mining activity is one of them. people who loves photography will enjoy this.

*just go across the street from this mural street. You will find colorful buildings which turns out nice in the photo.

A collection of interesting murals, depicting people and scenes from Malaysian life, drawn by a local artist.
