Never expect so many articles with long history are so well preserved here. There are scheduled Chinese n English tour conducted, it's free but donations at the end of the tour are welcome. The place has keep its distinct flavour of yester years in this "male" domain Hakka club where 'special' permits for mistress n prostitutes were allowed in discreetly. The heritage floor tiles of more than 100 years old, staircase with special hooks for carpet that you don't get to see now n original hand washing basins are still in good condition . Do pay a visit if you are in Ipoh, it's very close to the famous Concubine Lane. At night, even when it's closed, there are many open air tables layed out by the eateries opposite where you can unwind with the cooling "snow flower" beer and enjoy various famous ipoh food.

Nice and good in expression all history. Suggested the tour guide little girl speaking more louder. If they can present the mining process video during visitation will be more useful. Because we have no idea how the mining and the equipments operation

Very enjoyable and informative tour given in English. Tours in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin also available. You must make a reservation online to secure place on tour. You can learn about the history of Hakka tin mining bosses and their lives in Perak on this comprehensive tour. The building has been restored with care and contains many interesting artefacts and scene recreations of times gone by. I would have liked time to read the information displayed on the walls but the tour moves at quite a pace and we weren't given alone or reading time. Entry is free but a minimum donation of RM10 is recommended. Well worth a visit.

This is a good place to start your Ipoh visit. It helps put things into perspective and the museum is very well curated. There are many things which are unique and cannot be seen elsewhere in the world. It is amost interesting experience. It would have been better if visitors are allowed more free time to look after the guided tour.
