“Is it Haunted Apartment???”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2014

That's my perception when I arrival there, no one staying there. No near place to eat, no swimming pool, no lift, no internet even no hand-phone coverage and no convenience stores. If there is emergency in the middle of night, no one can be referred.

Access to the room was very quiet and dark.
Do not be fooled by the ads and pictures on their website or internet .........its too far from the beach.

1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 December 2013

I stayed for three days and two nights - one room apartment 22 Dec 2013 until 24 Dec 2013, a family day trip with seven families - 7 apartments. No phone and also hand phone signal was bad too - so difficult to communicate among us. It happened that the TV channel and also the swimming pool were both not available at that time. The swimming pool was actually at next door's Golden Villa Hotel and was under a cleaning process. Luckily they have an arrangement with Virgo Hotel nearby that allowed us to use their swimming pool which was not even half the size of the swimming pool we have expected at our hotel.
Our kids were frustrated and so we're not happy with our stay. And the manager just gave us an extra RM 70 dining coupon at nearby Restoran Dayang. Even that dining coupon also was hardly given to us after we told the manager that we deserve some form of a consolation for all these problems.
I believe they should inform us in advance of the swimming pool and T.V. channel problems e.g. by putting in the website or tell us when at booking time. They must have known in advance the swimming pool cleaning schedule. And they should give their customer a satisfactory discounted price for all these problems. I believe RM 209 per apartment was way too expensive for this level of service.
i almost forgot, the corridor was not clean and also light in my bathroom had problem and was repaired only before my second night stay.
Anyway, the resort staffs (receptionists) were nice to us. My brother told me, he had a nice stay at this resort previously, so I strongly believe that it was a management failure.

Have phone inside the room, but cannot be used.
Food just average taste. Nothing to be proud of.
Spacious room. But smelly toilet and old furniture inside.

Well, first off, my sister decided to rent a one bedroom apartment in Teluk Batik Resort on a long term basis (6 months that is) as she's based in Hospital Sri Manjung for the next 6 months.

From a long term stay basis, it's perfect as the resort is well maintained and it's nice having to wake up to a serene and peaceful environment after a hectic day at the hospital. And it's cheap too. For only RM1000 a month on rental, you get a resort living concept with access to the swimming pool. Look for Miss Sandy, her office is on the second floor above the reception of the hotel (golden bay resort). She's really friendly and will take you to all of the rooms till you find the perfect one.

One a short term stay point of view, I feel that Teluk Batik Resort is beautiful but lots of improvements could be done. For instance, perhaps a refurbishment as the units are quite old. And secondly, more attractive signages around the hotel. Somehow, it doesn't give you that inviting feeling. But I have to say, it's one of the best around Teluk Batik. Beats the shabby little resort next to it.

Some important things to take note,
1. Ask rooms that are closer to the lift as some are really far away from the lifts and you'll have to walk quite a distance. The smaller the number the further it is away from the lift. For instance Unit 10 will be closer to the lift than Unit 03.
2. The rooms are nice to stay and live in if you want an escape away from the hustle and bustle of the city but if you're looking for good and usable amenities and facilities in the resort, then it is definitely not what you're looking for. Facilities provided in the resort is only a restaurant and a cafe. All of the others that are available have not been maintained or spoilt maybe due to lack of fundings.
3. Be ready and prepared that there is no 3G connections in the entire resort . I am using both maxis and Digi and both has no 3G. Not sure about celcom though. Even our p1 wifi has no connection in the room so we've decided to subscribe to streamyx through the friendly and very helpful Miss Sandy.
4. Also be prepared that there is no room service as there is no telephones in the room. Also, no laundry services. The toilet works perfectly fine but looks very old but water pressure is good.
6. Beach is just a few mins walk away as it directly opposite the resort. Nice place to relax and enjoy the breeze. Lots of locals frequent the beach.
7. All in all, we're having a good time here. Just gotta be prepared for some issues which can be rectified.

Enough Facilities if you are not a perfectionist or a hotel critique.
It's an average beach area, don't expect to have great resorts.
There's a better resort nearby, but this is the nearest walking distance to the beach.
If you want nearer, there are a few budget chalets, if you don't mind.
It's not suitable for my young family members.

Was in a room with a Queen sized bed.

The check-in was slow. Check out was fast.
The resort looks a bit old and needs a renovation fast. The tables showed signs of wear and tear. The room was big with a living area with two sofas. The balcony is great, smoked my cigars there. The room was on the third floor. The bathroom is kinda ok but the tub was small as well as the toilet which required me a 6 footer to crouch down to use it. The towels were old and thus smelled quite a bit. I asked for a new towel from the housekeeping, and was given another smelly one too ! gosh ! Luckily the final morning i was given a nice towel. The resort only provide shampoos and soap for bath. There is no toothbrush and toothpaste so bring your own.
The TV is ordinary not flat screen and had only 3 channels. Cable is only AXN the other two channels are the local TV channels.
One of the lights in the living room was not working. The bed room which is in an enclosed space with a sliding door was unique. The bed was good for sleeping and the cupboards provided ample space for a family to put in their luggage. So that was good.

The food at the restaurant was ok nothing special. The breakfast was a let down with soft rice for the 'Nasi lemak' and the local 'kuih' was tasteless. Only the barbeque was excellent but that was once during the 3 nights we were there.

The resort is right opposite to the Teluk Batik which is a nice place to hang for the beach. Pangkor island is not far away as Lumut is near.

There is NO wifi and even any phone network available in your rooms. According to friends the rooms near the entrance to the resort would enable your cellular phone to work (no Maxis, no Celcom). So be warned ! The three days i was there i could not connect to the internet using my cellular phone.

i did not have a good time here. Will probably not return.

Room Tip: Higher rooms, away from the mosquitoes !
