Known locally as the 'Orient Half-Star', this says it all. Although advertised as a resort it capitalises on its position close to the nearby navy base and makes its living from business travellers and functions. It is the best in town which doesn't say very much. Badly in need of investment and staff training, it could be very nice but the management don't wish to push it as a resort, doing very nicely out of business use, they would have to compete with Damai Laut and Pangkor Laut to suceed in the vacation world, which they will never do.
Having said that, it's convenient for the town and OK short term for the business traveller. The pool is very nice and clean although the surroundings, in common with the rest of the hotel, are very tired.
