We stayed in the Ombak Inn for three wonderful nights it was a short break we planned for days, choosing this hotel come after we have read all reviews from this site and for our surprise we found it even more beautiful then the descriptions, closer than we thought to the wonderful Nibah beach, a quiet place to stay and very nice and helpful family to receive you with a smile and serve you with dedication. The hotel was far better suited to families and groups than the ones we've stayed in at the last year.
The lobby smell like fresh flowers simply because it is full of flowers, they have different room sizes and although we had the smallest one but later on we have the choice to change for a much bigger room but we did not as we were so comfortable in our small room and actually we did not spend much time in the room because the place is so lovely and beautiful you don't want to fall a sleep.
Next time we would choose a slightly bigger room but we really don't mind staying in the same room we picked by phone in our first visit.
We can not wait for the next break to come back to Ombak Inn.

Mixed feelings after staying at Ombak Inn for two nights, the following are the Pro’s and Con’s

Pro’s
1.Really helpful and friendly owner who goes out of her way to ensure your needs are taken care off

2.Good location, walking distance from Coral Bay (which I think is the better beach around Pangkor, convenience store, food stalls

Con’s
1.Rooms are a tad bit old (i.e. Moldy walls, broken toilet lock, )

2.Mosquitos in the room

3.If you’re looking to sleep early, look elsewhere as the karaoke next door is quite loud especially if your room is right up front and goes on till about midnite

Overall, I’m not too fussy as I’m used to backpacker joints however given those minor setbacks above, would prefer if the price is slightly cheaper because by adding slightly more from what I’ve paid, I would have been able to upgrade to a much better accommodation . However I must say location wise, it is excellent and if you need extras the owners are more than happy to help.

If those minor setbacks are taken care off, the place would be perfect.

My husband and I stayed at the Ombak Inn during high season. We had booked to stay for a few nights, but actually ended up leaving after one night.
We were paying 70RM per night for a private chalet with bathroom, air con, a small TV and small fridge. We weren't expecting luxury, and what we found was simple and initially appeared to be ok. The chalet is set in attractive grounds, and there is a small restaurant on site.
However as the evening progressed we discovered that the surroundings were very noisy. There was (very loud) karaoke coming from the hotel next door until the early hours of the morning, and a constant stream of people walking past the chalet. The walls of our room were so thin, it felt like we were outside. The next morning at 7am, workmen arrived to begin digging a ditch right next to our chalet, with the dirt actually being piled up on our front porch. Hardly a relaxing environment. We also didn't think that the room was particularly clean, and the bed and pillows were not that great.
So we walked around to other accommodations and found that we could get a higher standard of chalet/hostel for virtually the same price. We checked out of the Ombak Inn after one night and moved to a place around the corner.

Overall, I can't say that the Ombak Inn is a bad place to stay, but the chalets seem old and tired and it isn't the cleanest place. The owner was really friendly and nice to us, but the constant noise put us off and we decided to move. Actually, even though it was high season, there were a lot of vacant chalets. Maybe this should have been our first clue.
Perhaps in low season and without construction work being done it is much quieter and more pleasant. But in high season, it's not the best choice in the area.

My boyfriend and I went to Pangkor in the low season so it was generally a pretty quiet, secluded place to stay. There wasn't a lot of nightlife or people in general, but it had a really nice beach 2 minutes away and the owner is so lovely. She was really helpful with everything and even offered us her car for the day! (We declined). We arrived quite late and she told us where we could get some good food (Daddy's Cafe on the beach is amazing) and who to go with for any activities throughout our stay.

The chalet was clean and comfortbale. It had aircon with a TV (it only shows whatever is on the main tv), a bathroom and included a pretty big breakfast all for 50RM. There is also a restaraunt there open in the high season.

For the negative points - there were quite a few mosquitos and we had a lizard in the room at one point but as long as you make sure not to keep food in the room you'll be fine. We stayed for a total of 4 nights but it did rain alot on one of the days we were there and as it was low season there was nothing at all to do.

Overall we both enjoyed our stay here and we definately go back if we chose to go to Pangkor again!

A bit expensive considering the low standard of the room. I rented their cheapest option which was a chalet with a queen sized bed. The room was very dark and ventilation was very poor. The "shower" was actually just a hose next to the toilet and there were no hot water (might have been something temporarily wrong though cause owner said it should have hot water). It was VERY noisy at night time from a nearby karaoke place.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, they also treat you to breakfast which was OK.

Just a minute walk to get to the beach, many restaurants nearby. Host also had a bbq (i was there on a saturday).

Stayed at Ombak Inn for 2 nights just to get away from the hustle and bustle of KL. Very cheap room with aircon, tv and own bathroom. Very close to a nice beach at Nipah Bay, Pulau Pangkor. Free breakfast, not the best but decent. They also have bicycles and motorcycles for rent.

this is really a budget place, not a hotel but chalets to be exact. Booked the family room, but it is actually 2 rooms with connecting door. It's quaint in a sense as it's wooden, but the bathroom was so small you cant even turn around when showering. No hot water in the shower. Wash basin is outside the bathroom & water splash everywhere whenever you use the basin. No frills at all. Though there's lots of nice flowers, the whole place smells of decaying plants. Asked for change of room as there's no hot water . The other room is newer & have bigger bathroom, but that's about all. There's cobwebs everywhere, the side tables are dusty, the fridge (don't know whether that works), broken ceiling.
