“Quiet Holiday by the beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 December 2013

This hotel is small and quiet with friendly staff. The rooms though a little old (esp the upstairs rooms) was well maintained and clean.
Do take note - rooms on the first floor can be extremely hot - we had to move to another one because the day we arrived it was unbearable even with air-conditioning and fan. But after moving, we had no more complaints.
The pool was great and if you get one of the ground floor rooms - it opens out to the pool area - lovely!
Just perfect for a stress-free holiday!

We stayed here for eight nights in one of the upstairs rooms. The room although basic has all you need - fridge, in room safe, lcd tv with one good film channel and espn sports showing live premiership football. Air conditioning is one of the quietist i've ever had in a hotel. Bathroom is modern and clean. Being only 3 years old the room and hotel has a pleasant feel, all fixtures and fitting are modern and the hotel is well maintained and very clean. Breakfast buffet is adequate. The beach is not the best - to many boats plying their tourist trade and a lot of rubbish left on the beach which was only cleaned once towards the end of our stay by the council. Best beach we saw is nipah bay just 5-10 minutes drive away. Overall for the price it would be difficult to beat this hotel.

The Resort is simple, yet an elegant little paradise. There's a lot to like about this resort. Check-in and check-out is very fast. You will find their friendly staff always greeting you with typical Malaysian hospitality. The rooms are really spacious and well maintained with clean bathroom. The pool is fantastic and oriented to get afternoon sun without other high-rises or trees blocking it. Breakfast choice are adequate as they serve a mix of Continental, Malay and Indian food. The beach is clean with clear blue water. For the price, facilities and the amenities are definitely above standard. As the resort is designed with only 25 rooms, it is usually very quiet and relaxing. If you want to stay somewhere that is not crowded and where you can truly relax, well, this is the place. But if you wish to engage in water sports or other excursions the staff can arrage for that right at the premises. It is an Ideal place if you are planning a family reunion or a group trip as you can book the entire resort for yourselves and customize your activities and meal options. We enjoyed our stay immensely, thanks to an efficient managemnt and staff.
We would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Book the Chalete facing the beach.

Lovely small hotel with good pool and loungers, and direct access to sandy beach/bay and sea. A tranquil spot to unwind. Small informal restaurant/cafe/bar that is part covered or you can sit nearer the sea. Attentive Indian owner. A variety of curries feature on the simple but good menu; breakfast buffet good range with 'egg' cook. In March the beach was only 'dirty' at the far end - well-washed bits of sea-borne plastic, synthetic rope etc, but the sandy bay was otherwise very clean and sea a delight to swim in as sunset approached. Great location after hectic tours of Malaysian/Singapore cities. Very good value.

Room Tip: Ground floor - straight onto pool; though were garden chalets nearer sea

I stayed for one night only, but enough for me to make sincere reviews of 'Pangkor Sandy Beach Resort'. I've paid 'MUCH MORE' in other resorts, but what I received was 'LESS' than what I've expected. Unlike in 'PSBR', I sincerely felt that I've received more than what I've paid for. I was impressed by the well kept and clean Standard Room with one Queen sized bed, and the front view of well tended garden and pool. The strategic location offers convenience to stroll along the nearby beach, and walks to the nearby shops. Room facilities were in perfect condition. Free breakfast at 'Sandy Spoon' was good and 'PSBR' staff were warm and friendly. My best experienced there was, the chance of meeting and having a friendly chat with Mr. A. Rajaram the Director of PSBR himself. Thank you Mr. A. Rajaram for such good experience that my husband and I had in PSBR.

Room Tip: "Lower grd., front room No. 111 was perfect for senior citizens like us".
