Nipah Guesthouse was awesome! The owners are so nice and friendly. I felt at home there. The guesthouse is in a nice location.

The +
The owners are very nice young people, warm and friendly. They try their best to make you feel comfortable and assist you in anything. They started their guesthouse project 2 years ago and they seem to invest every cent they earn into it, improving things little by little. When we were there they were replacing the acrylic bedsheets with new ones made of cotton. There are a couple of things which they are going to improve gradually like adding furniture and decoration, improving the bathroom, etc but overall it was a very pleasant stay for my family. We stayed in the family suite (2 bedrooms + living room).
The beach is minutes away, with food stalls/restaurant and a mini market.

The -
The group catering opposite the street hold a karaoke until midnight the day we stayed at Nipah. We couldn't sleep until they finished their stupid songs. The owner told us in advance about it and he was very sorry. Fortunately, these karaoke do not happen too often in the year!
I have 2 remarks concerning the family suite: it would be nice to add a window in the living room and to change the orientation of the toilet by 90 degrees so that you can actually use it in the normal way :)

By far this was the best place we stayed in Malaysia. Anuar and Alicia made this place home to us. We loved the A-frame Hut - it's suitable for 2 people and has enough space. Especially breakfast was a fantastic! We were thankful for all advises and the hospitality. We'd love to come back to this amazing place. All the best for Anuar, Alicia and baby Ayla.

As everyone has said before this is a home-stay and its made extra special by the owners. Helpful, friendly - they go the extra mile. I wish that all hotels understood what people want like these guys do. The A frames are cute and the flat screen TV with HBO is a welcome on a lazy evening. Pulau pangkor is a great little island full of Malay families. Great fish and seafood every evening - just stroll along the stalls and pick what you fancy and at lunch time a couple of places open for lunch and have a selection of amazing Malay curries. The beach at Nipah is lovely white sand and the sea is great for a swim. There is no snorkelling though - coral island is a misnomer - all you will see is people standing on what may have once been coral with bags of bread in their hands. The island is an easy swim though if you want to check it out.

This is a lovely place! The owners are so kind and genuinly friendly people that this alnone is a good enough reason to stay here. They have a DIY breakfast with toast, eggs, veggies, pancake mix, and fresh fruit. After 3months on the road we loved making our own breakfast. We stayed in an A-frame cottage which was lovely. The reason for the slightly lower score for the room was only the fact that there is no hot water (it was lukewarm and we didn't mind that at all but it can bother some people) and it would have been nice to have a dresser to put our clothes in. The cottage had good AC and a fan. We got to borrow snorkles and a motorbike and we got good restaurant and beach tips from the owners. They spend a lot of tine getting to know their guests and are always in a good mood. We highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone staying on the Pangkor island!

After having read all the reviews on Nipah Guesthouse, we were enthusiastic to spend a week there. We have been warmly welcomed from the very first minute by Alicia and Anuar. That week has been the best experience during our trip in Malaysia.
Everyday, Anuar and Alicia take care of their guests, making sure they enjoy their stay at the guesthouse and nothing is missing.
When you walk around in the Pangkor Island, this guesthouse is the one you notice, the one which is out of the box. Its grey and white cute cotages first, its cleanliness then, and the warm atmosphere you can feel even from the outside.
Anuar is someone who takes really a lot of time to maintain and improve his guesthouse, but he also takes care of the outside environment, providing advices to the resorts from the neighborhoods, to improve the quality of the immediate environment. This appeared to us to be unique at Pangkor.
A last word about the breakfast and the famous pancakes… We miss them !!!

We have not only discovered a great place to stay in Malaysia, but also friends we already miss.

For sure, we'll come back at some stage.
