The staff were very friendly and helpful. The standard chalet we rented was satisfactory; the only downside was the leaking aircond. It will be nice if they can provide drinking water as a complimentary instead of selling them at the reception. Overall, loved the stay there and had no regrets!

We arrived with children and stayed in a chalet with two comfortable beds plenty big enough for all 4 of us. Bathroom was clean, bedding clean, room in general was very tidy and cozy. Not a lot of space inside but, we spent most of our time outside. We didn't eat at the restaurant just had coffee and tea in the mornings which were offered complimentarily.
We all were extremely satisfied. There were renovations going on but, it didn't go too late or disturb us. The staff were mostly very friendly.

Room Tip: Check the bed. Some people complained of uncomfortable beds and in our room the beds were not the s...

The hotel is located at the Nipah Bay itself, just 2 mins away from the beach. The restaurant is good and the staff is friendly. However, the chalets are not that clean, everything looks musty and the rooms are dim and not too cheerful, and the rates are way too high compared to what they are giving. No free breakfast included even in those high rates! In addition, some work with a machine was going on in a chalet, every day, till late in the evening/night: don't people require a bit of peace?

Authentic little place up on the side of the mountain top across from the beach on Pangkor Island. I stayed in the 3rd story Tower at the end room on the balcony and would not have wanted to stay down in the fancier "Villas" because the little walkways that wind around throughout that lower village of buildings would not be quiet enough for me. Lots of mischievous monkeys, so don't leave anything outside your room you don't want lifted by them! My neighbor had a pink plastic mug stolen and it was blamed on the monkeys. Matt is a lovely host and owner and the atmosphere is relaxed until the mainlander locals come over on Saturday nights - then the tiny streets are loud with Kareoke machiines blarring and not-so-good crooners competing in sound. This place does have one "regular" who stays here for long periods of time who is a definite huge negative to the atmosphere. "Y" is admittedly not mentally stable, interrupts every conversation he overhears, is outwardly insulting and is tolerated by the establishment - however people on vacation do not want to "tolerate" this level of dysfunction. Smoking is tolerated everywhere, even in the open picnic-table style restaurant entrance, so it is difficult to enjoy sitting and talking or definitely eating with all the air contamination. The food was good, breakfast buffet was basic, yet plentiful and varied most days. There are motorbikes to rent (not cheap, I paid 40 Ringgits & gave Wan another 10 Ringgit tip that he did not seem to really appreciate), it is only 5 minute walk to the Beach and all in all it has a lot to offer for simple, relaxing, authentic experience. Other staff are very nice and accomodating and definitely appreciated my regular and large gratuties. My room was basic and fine for just coming in late at night and leaving early in the mornings. You will have to travel down to town for anything which costs 15 Ringgits - $7.50 U.S. no matter how many are in a cab and could be more if you have a lot of people or luggage in a van - so plan to pool together and/or rent a motorbike - there are many places to rent bikes, although I rented one right at Nipa Bay Villa and only used it a couple of hours for 2 days, but paid the full 40 Ringgits. Again, a family-type of atmosphere with too much of a heavy helping of Dysfunction from "Y"! I was here for 5 days and the people down on the street and beach who are out and work there everyday are very nice, I took a short boat ride over to Coral Beach to snorkel but the trash and water is not really clear for that due to so much littering, which is also tolerated along with allowing everyone to smoke everywhere and so the air quality is not good.

Room Tip: I would say to stay in the 3rd Story Tower Room at the end and ask if anyone else up there is a Smok...

The Nipah Bay Villas represent good value for money, with a lot of rooms crammed into a small space but relatively well-organized and private. The rooms are clean and well-attended to and the owners and workers kind, attentive and responsible. The buffet breakfast hardly memorable, but it goes with the territory.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are fine but if you pay more money you get a nice chalet. It's worth mentioni...

LIKED
1: The location is good in Nipah - near to shops/food/beach/activities
2: Room - adequate for our needs
3: Friendly owner & staff
4: Less than 10 mins walk to Coral Beach

DISLIKED
The pillows are not comfortable (too soft) & blanket was too thin

All in all it was an awesome stay!

I travel with my 7 year old son who is a picky eater at the best of times and certainly cant eat the spicy malaysian food. So it was with great relief that we found Nipa Villa restaurant as it contained some simple western foods that my child would eat and was happy there. We actually went back there three more nights to eat, not only because of my son, but I really enjoyed some of the local food favourites that were spicy but really delicious. The price of the food is good, the smoothies are wonderful, and there is nothing better than a great lemon iced tea after a hot day in the sun. I met two really wonderful staff their who were friendly and talkative and then some of the staff who must have known we returned three nights in a row, couldn't even crack a smile, it was like we didn't even exist or didn't care. The service at times was non existent. It is sad because Idid like the food at this place, but they were generally so unfriendly and so slow on service that it is hard to give it a real good review. What I will say if you are in pangkor and need a place for kids who generally want simple western food, this might be just your sort of place. Just be prepared that service is not half what it should be.
