This place really feels like you stepped into the early 1900s and I learned so many interesting facts about the Chinese making home in Malaysia. The Babas were very rich business people that had it all back then. This place is truly awesome to visit.

the place is huge and so many displays, it goes on and on.
The tour was good, but I found it a little hard to understand the tour guide as the rooms have a lot of echo and there were a lot of visitors, we dropped off the tour and just wandered around by ourselves, and this was easy to do, with enough information available.

Pinang Peranakan Mansion is a marvellous step back in time. We thoroughly appreciated our visit.

The Mansion recreates the style of living, a century ago, enjoyed by some of the very wealthy Chinese residents of George Town. Mixed Malay, Chinese, British and European styles and cultures are evident in the building and many artefacts it houses.

We enjoyed an expertly guided tour through this wonderful venue and collection and were captivated so much of the exhibition and information.

I recommend visiting Pinang Peranakan Mansion for visitors to George Town, good value and a great introduction to a visit to the old town.

Located along Church Street, you could spot a greenish painted 2 level terrace house from far. Best place to experience for a local Peranakan culture. Explore all the rooms to have a feel of the uniqueness.

If you are interested in how people from a time period and of a certain group lived, this is a place to visit. This was the residence of one of Penang's rich and famous family. Its fine fixtures, furnitures, jewelries, accessories are well maintained and displayed. They drew oohs and aahs from members of my family, as we listened to the stories from her past that my 92-year-old mother told as she looked at the many artifacts in display and remembered what those things were, how and when they were used, and who might own one. Yes, it would look like we brought our own tour guide. It certainly provided great conversations. Though my mother was limited to the ground floor, there was plenty for her to see and enjoy. This was an educational experience for us. There is a jewelry shop within this museum so that one section of the jewelry exhibit felt somewhat confusing at first, but it also provided one with a sense of how much all the jewelry in exhibit are worth. We were definitely awed by its opulence!
