Check out the Lounge/Club Floor Excellent service from the front liner staff(Ms Leena). Your request is generally ganted. They do the extra milleage to fullfill your requirements and normally provides you request.

Room Tip: A bit of cramp but cossy and good for just R & R. Try the club floor and the Lounge you may get...

An ideally-located, good-quality property that is part of a top international group, Traders is located in the heart of a downtown area of Georgetown. Many Shopping Malls nearby, a Penang Bus terminal behind and easy walking distance (despite too few zebra crossings for safe transit) to many truly good value local restaurants. So much hype for the Batu Ferringhi beach area hotels, but if the beach is not your bag, the surrounding area there is very run down and the road out from Georgetown very windy. Downton dividends offered by staying at Traders and not out on the beach.

Great hotel......first time at a Traders hotel....will definitely be back. We had club room, club lounge facilities second to none, good food, nice snacks, though bit too much fish. Good selection for breakfast, not usual club lounge continental.....cooked breakfast available. Good variety of drinks for cocktail hour. Good location. Staff all very good, except barman in evening, very pushy, and invading personal space, no patience, when looking at menu food and drinks, kept saying have this have that, I asked for vegetarian option, to which he replied with chicken, when I said no he I get it with chicken, my husband firmly told him no. Receptionist Ika very pleasant and helpful. Concierge, booked driver(Osman) for us to show us sights, great knowledge of Penang, great bargain @RM200 for 5hours, seeing as little or much as you want. Kek Lok Si temple very commercialised too many stalls....more like street market. Snake temple worth a visit. Pool small but clean and functional. Easy to get taxi, if required. 2 malls within walking distance, perfect for shopping or food. Local food places also nearby. Bit of building work going on round about, but it is the same all over Malaysia.

Room Tip: Pay extra for club room, value for money with club lounge facility.

We stayed at Traders Hotel in Penang for two nights and we had a Club room so we we're able to use the club lounge. The view was a little disappointing as they were tearing down a building opposite, but the room served it's purpose for what we needed. The decor in the corridors and rooms were outdated, and a lot of the hotel smelled of smoke even though we were staying in a non smoking area which was a little off putting. We enjoyed using the club lounge for drinks and snacks, however the entertainment in the main bars was dismal, the keyboardist couldn't play a tune even if he tried and one of the singers was constantly hitting the wrong notes - terrible. My partner and I found it funny rather than impressive. The staff were quite helpful, but we didn't need to ask them for much during our short stay. I would recommend this hotel for people wanting to explore Penang as it's a good location and it also has a free shuttle to the beach outside golden sands, however, if you're looking for better quality accommodation - go elsewhere.

Room Tip: You get what you pay for, if you can afford to upgrade, it's probably worth it!

Nice and friendly staffs, always eager to help you around. Good suggestions for fantastic and delicious local food. Room is clean and fresh. No bad or pungent smell. I love the complimentary fruits platter and the mini chocolates. A good spread of food for breakfast. Definitely worth every penny staying here. Cheers.

Stayed for 3N on a business trip. Location is good with 2 malls next to it and some quaint shop houses within walking distance. Many nice local food stalls down the street as well. No problem catchup taxi.

We had 5 nights here to explore Georgetown and were very happy with the hotel. The hotel is in a great location next to Komtar for catching the free tourist bus around the sights of Georgetown, and also easy walking distance to most sights too. The concierge was always helpful in answering our questions, giving directions and hailing cabs immediately.
We stayed in a Club Room and enjoyed the Club access for breakfast and evening canapés – service was always excellent. We didn’t eat at the main restaurant at all as we preferred the quiet of the club room for breakfast.
We used the pool every day which was a peaceful respite from the city – the pool area is clean, the water lovely and the staff were great.
The room was fine – plenty of space and a comfortable sleep. The shower was over the bath and quite high so may be difficult to get in and out of if you are short! Good amenities provided in the bathroom and the cleaning was excellent.
Not a resort, but a perfect base to explore Georgetown.
