This hotel is huge and adequate for middle/upper backpacker option and lower end luxury budgets. Reception staff are helpful - Rooms are huge - I was upgraded to a Deluxe - Pool has great views but is north facing so you miss the afternoon sun. In house menu is pretty standard and beers are not always easy to get a hold of. There is a beach food court just opposite the hotel - so plenty of options for food and drink. No complaints about this hotel ... but just maybe a bit far from central Georgetown.

Room Tip: I was upgraded to a Deluxe even without asking - so always worth a try :)

The hotel is located in town, making it a little difficult to move around without your own transport. However, some sea facing restaurants and Gurney Drive is a short walk away, approximately 10 - 15 minutes.

The rooms although bigger then average were in dire need of cleaning and updating. The curtains, sheets and towels were stained with age, although, they were most probably clean. The furnishings were chipped and worn. There was mildew on the windows. The light above the safe was flickering and although maintenance came to attend to it, the problem was not rectified.

The wooden planks on the floor were warped in my parents room and my father had a slight electric shock when using a switch in their room.

The hot chocolate ordered from room service was tasteless and watery and the hotel charges for ice.

The bathroom was spacious and relatively well maintained, the Jacuzzi was slightly dirty, and had to be cleaned prior to use. The amenities in the bathroom were adequate.

The SPA at the hotel was nice, although a little dark and gloomy. The staff at the SPA were pleasant and friendly, however, there was a lot of (our massage) time wasted as the staff seemed rather disorganized and did not prepare the room and water in advance.

The staff at the coffeehouse were pleasant and very accommodating. The menu in the coffee house is reasonably priced (for a hotel), although rather simple.

The parking is not accessible by lift, is dimly lit and was flooded when it rained, Each time you remove your car from the parking area, you would have validate your parking ticket at the reception.

The staff when called made me feel like I was disturbing them or doing something wrong and came to attend to our grievances smelling of cigarette smoke, which was left lingering in the room afterwards.

I stayed here with my husband and my baby. This was the holiday retreat that we were waiting for. Since the other reviews were very positive and the room also has Jacuzzi, we put high expectation on this hotel. However when we arrived, we were very disappointed. The first thing is the parking. From the hotel parking lot to the hotel, there is no direct lift. You need to use the stairs to get to the lobby and then to the lift to your room. If you are carrying a baby, avoid stroller. Leave your wife and baby and the lobby before you park your car. Not baby friendly or wheelchair friendly I guess. Next is the room. We were upgraded to Junior Suite. We were very delighted at first but when we arrived at the room, it was a different story. The environment inside the room was quite gloomy although the room is quite spacious. The bed is big. The floor really need refurbishment. It's very dangerous for kids especially babies if they have start crawling. The bathroom is big with a closet inside. However at some places, it needs a clean. One good thing about this hotel is it has a Jacuzzi in the bathroom.

I stayed in this hotel for one night on 23 nov 2013. we reached around 6.30pm and car park was convenient. our check in process was super fast. everything was settle in less than 5 minutes. It was a malay guy who was on duty.

We booked a studio suite and the room was super comfortable and spacious! our room was at 25th floor (room 2503). It was facing the sea, with minibar, 2 television. we love the jacuzzi and it works well despite the complain that i read in tripadvisor about the jacuzzi.

The location was good as it near to many attraction (padang kota, few shopping mall, and many other). We didnt opt for the breakfast as we really want to enjoy penang food.

i totally satisfied with the stay but what make me sad is that when i back home, i realize that i've left my gucci perfume which is still new. i was hoping that the hotel will call me and alert me about that but it didnt happen. hopefully the manager can respond to this.

other than that, everything was great.

Room Tip: higher floor. they also have smoking and non-smoking level.

The hotel room was very spacious. The bathroom was very big along with a Jacuzzi and a wardrobe. They had free wifi (cable) in the room. Reception staff were not friendly at all; not even a smile! I requested for a late check-out but they said that they were running full. Breakfast was average, not a wide spread. The view from the room was exhilarating. Overall, not an excellent but good stay.

The room i booked for was for the Junior Suite. The room was very spacious. The bathroom was large with a jacuzzi and a wardrobe in the toilet. There was a malfunction with the Jacuzzi as there was no bubbles and the water would not drain out. The reception were not very friendly. Not even a simple smile. I requested for a late check-out but they told me that they were very busy but I did not see many people at the reception area when we checked-in nor did we see many people at breakfast! Breakfast was average, not a large spread. Overall the room was very good and what made it even more better was the view of the sea!

Room Tip: Get the highest floor possible and a room facing the sea.

Stayed here with my family as we thought is convenient to go around in penang. We checked in without any issues. But once we are in the room we found out there was no electricity. Called front desk who got a technician to fix the dodgy electrics works fine for a few hours only to stop working again. The cycle continue events the electricity stopped working in the middle of the night so we were without air conditioning and lights all night. Needless to say in the morning I requested another room. This process was no easy as I was hanged up on all the time by the rude front desk. Bottom line is avoid this hotel, breakfast is nothing special, dodgy electrics will leave u without ac and lights, rude staff treats you like a non paying guest!
