Well, based on the reviews of the property, I booked it for my family. But on reaching there, I was in for a shock. A). it does not have a restaurant; B) No bar either; C) You've got to pre-order your breakfast for the next morning, there is no buffet; D) The room was like a cell, no view. The toilets were cramped. I asked for a local number to be connected on phone but was shocked to learn that they do not have the facility of connection and that I would have to go to the reception. cancelled my second note and booked another property. Would not recommend.Apologies

Dear Bhuvan G,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concern with us.

Allow me to apologise for the experience you encountered. I came to understand that our Front Office trainee has misled you with some of the issues that you had kindly raised in your feedback. And I understand that you had spoken with our Front Office Executive on duty which she had assisted for your transfer to another property.

Our Hotel certainly have the facilities to assist you to make local calls and to be connected to your room. There is also a wine bar on the ground floor which is open in the evening. Our Hotel will provide you with a Food Map within 10 minutes’ walking distance within the vicinity; if not, our Front Office staff will be happy to assist you to arrange for deliveries from some of the participated restaurants. We are utterly sorry for the misleading information by our trainee. Please be rest assured that we have already took action on this matter to avoid any misinform of our service and facilities to our guests in the future.

Once again, thank you for your valuable time for the feedback and we hope to be able to be of best service to you in the near future.

The Museum Hotel is a nicely furnished boutique hotel in a quiet street not far away from all the sights. Breakfast is included. You have to choose from a menu the evening before what you want to have (although we didn’t quite get the sense of it, because they were asking what we wanted to have the next morning again). The staff was very friendly. The rooms are small and the hotel is full of wooden antique Chinese furniture. They also offer tours through their “Museum”. Unfortunately we didn’t have the time to do it. The breakfast room is in white and grey marble, nice and cool in the morning.

We stayed at The Museum hotel in May for one night on our way to a beach resort. We booked online as we were looking for a budget but comfortable stay, we weren't dissapointed.
We organised an airport transfer with the hotel a few weeks before arriving and we were picked up in a comfortable air conditioned people carrier - with a friendly and fun driver.
The hotel from the outside is beautiful (especially at night) and we were warmly greeted at check-in with a welcome drink. We were shown to the room by the receptionist who took her time to go over usual details as well as giving us a little history about the hotel.
The room was decorated with an old-fashioned style - very in keeping with the whole hotel - but it was pretty, cool and had everything we needed (great shower, TV, WiFi).
The location is on a very quiet street so it took us a while to find somewhere to go out during the evening (the reception staff were not sure about bars - only restaurants, but they were helpful in pointing out the local resturants good for vegetarians).
Breakfast was, like the whole stay, quirky, with "dippy eggs", fruit and coffee. It wasn't gourmet, but great considering it was included in the room rate.

All in all, a great boutique hotel in a quiet location with friendly staff and a great price.

This is a lovely hotel. The building is well restored - I kept being amazed by the antique furnishings. The service I experienced in my 4-night stay here was impeccable, to the point that I was willing to forgive the hotel when the water supply was disrupted while I was in the shower. The staff on duty demonstrated decent service recovery by accompanying me to an unaffected room for me to complete my shower. I also appreciated the little touches like the turn-down service.

All in all, I would recommend people to stay here if they are not with young children and do not mind a small hotel that is a bit off the centre of town. Hope to be back!

Two roads away from the buzz of historical Georgetown, this beautifully renovated hotel is located in a back street, meaning tranquility. For us a perfect location, since we don't mind walking a few minutes extra but getting a very quiet night in return. This is not a 5-star hotel, so don't expect top-notch professional service. What you can expect is sincerely friendly and helpful staff (which is more pleasant, anyway).

Georgetown offers a wide selection of boutique, renovated shop-house hotels - what makes this one stand out is that it exhibits an extensive private collection of Baba Nyonya furniture and accessories. An interesting tour of the collection is provided if you give 24 hour notice.

Breakfast in the open breakfast room was great - five very different alternatives are provided, so you should be able to find something that pleases your tastebuds. We spent hours over breakfast just enjoying the beauty of the hotel. The rooms are not huge, but adequate for a boutique hotel. The plumbing in the bathrooms is suffering a little under the old structures, but we had no major problem. A fitness centre with weights, one running belt, a bike and a pull down machine (machines all in good condition!) enables you to get a basic workout during your stay. Private parking space available in case you're coming by car.

Staff are not trained adequately. Knocked on my door while the do not disturb sign was on. Caused me to miss the ferry to Langkawi by giving me the wrong information. Breakfast was OK but only available from 8am and you need to tell them what you want and what time in advance which is silly. Location is so so. Much better and cheaper options on Love Lane.

Dear dreamhunter2015,

Thank you for your review on our Hotel. It is disheartening to know about your unfavourable experience in our Hotel. I would like to offer my sincere apologies that our new Front Office staff had not provided you with our usual standard of service. I have discussed this matter with members of my team, to enforce further training on our trainees and have stressed to them that this does not occur again.

Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback and we hope to be able to be of best service to you in the near future.
