Love the tub, cleanliness of room and reception was friendly and helpful. Needs more power points in the room and layout was a little wierd but truly a gem for the price. Hope it keeps up the standard!

We booked this hotel attracted by a very competitive price and new amenities since the hotel has just opened. Location is quite central, close to Time Square, however it is not a walking distance to George Town (around a $7 cab drive). When we arrived, we were offered an upgrade to a Superior Room by the manager which was very kind, however when we got the the room it was very disappointing as it has not been cleaned properly with hair around the sink, wet floor in the bathroom and stained sheets. We have asked for someone to come up and clean while we are gone into town, but they seem to have only changed the bedding. The rooms are not bad overall but there is no safety deposit box in the room nor there is one at the reception desk. There is a great large bath in the bathroom but it seems pointless since we had no hot water. That is not something you accept in the accommodation of this type. Hotel offers free WIFI but it's of poor quality.

It looks to me that the hotel has a potential to be good but it is not managed well at the moment. The younger gentleman at the reception desk was particularly useless (I am afraid this is the only expression that comes to my mind) and seemed annoyed whenever approached about anything. He also forgot to inform us about some kind of marathon taking place right in front of our hotel the morning when we were leaving for the airport which resulted in us almost missing our flights as the cab driver could not make his way to pick us up due to road closures etc. He didn't think it was his responsibility to keep informed about any events that might disrupt his guests travel plans.

I would wait for some more reviews before booking a stay in there to see whether lessons are being learnt with time and if the hotel implements certain improvements. At this stage, unfortunately, I would not go back neither would I give it my recommendation.

New facilities in a boutique style hotel - central location though not necessarily walking distance to any sites, though plenty of food options both sit down and hawker stalls.

The Day manager was particularly gracious as he drove us in rush hour to a CitiBank ATM to extract some local tender while giving us the lay of the land. He genuinely cared about our stay.

More suited to couples, our room had a overly large bathroom - other rooms may be different. Only a few rooms per floor.

Room Tip: Rooms facing street can be a bit noisy.

The hotel's Rooms are very unique and have different design for each room. Very romantic room because of the light effects. Location is strategic because infront of the hotel is Penang Times Square and Soju Room located there too! Easy to hunt for foods. Very convenient!!! However, the price is slightly higher. At range RM150 and above. Nice place to have indoor photo shooting because have different type of rooms.

This themed boutique hotel is the first of its kind in Malaysia and at a reasonable price for backpackers and tourists! Though the location is rather hard to find but it is situated very near to major tourist attractions of Georgetown. It would be better to set your gps to Times Square (if you are driving) because this boutique hotel is located directly at the opposite of this building. You will be able to see it once you turn into the junction off jalan dato keramat. Parking wise..it is limited to a max of 6 cars in front of the hotel. Anyways, there is a parking space nearby which you can park.

Since the hotel is located just next to the main road, do expect noises as jalan dato keramat is able to connect to a lot of places. It is really convenient to get to main attractions (from the hotel) such as the Heritage Walk and Little India, as well as shopping complexes like First Avenue and Gurney Plaza.

I stayed in the standard room and the room is comfortable and clean (with a rain forest shower <3 ) but I experienced some problem with the water heater. Not many would need a water heater when the weather is so warm in Malaysia but I always love a hot shower after a day out...but the heater is not working.

Otherwise I'm very satisfied with this little gem. Local food is just 1 min away if you walk from the hotel and the night market is about 5km away (jalan perak on a Friday night), which is quite doable with a bicycle.

What I love most about this hotel is that they offer free wifi (decent speed) and English as well as Cantonese channels.

I spent 2 nights with my partner in their "Mirror" themed room which we preferred over the "Jail" themed room in their deluxe suite category. And yes it really has wow after wow effects entering the hotel lobby, to the corridor which was furnished with original paintings which we thought it was really sexy although we were not really into paintings (the manager told us those paintings were drawn customized to this hotel by a famous local artist), and finally Wowed again with the room. It really has a full functioning jacuzzi bathtub and most excitingly, the mirror over the wall and the ceiling, which will let u have the view of your ownselve standing up or laying down on the bed. Friendly and helpful staffs have helped us a lot in getting all the desired famous local foods. The room is clean and the bed is extremely comfortable. The unique design of our room have made us curious and wanting to try out the "Jail" and the "Library" for our next visit. Will strongly recommend it to all couples coz I have had some really enjoyable moments with my partner here except there were some minor noise came from the main street during peak hour. Excellent concept after all.

Room Tip: All the suites are front facing rooms. Minor noise will be heard but it has better views and is sunn...
