“Very central hotel”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

Booked at this hotel for 8 nights.Check in was hassle free and we got a room on the 6th floor which was perfect and was quiet. The hotel was pleasant with lovely big rooms. The little restaurant next door was very pleasant if you needed to eat something without walking to far. The hotel is extremely central to all of the most beautiful parts of historic Georgetown . Would recommend this hotel to anybody as it is value for money . I would definitely use this hotel again if I had to return to Georgetown again. Bathrooms could be cleaned little better during daily routine cleaning.wi-fi can be problematic

Room Tip: After reading some reviews about noise from street side I decided to ask for a room on higher floor...

We went for a family trip in April and initially wasn't too happy when my sister booked this hotel, due to some previous comments about this hotel (sleep quality). However it turned out to be much better than I assumed. Check in was fast and I love the wood laminated floor the moment I stepped into my room. No carpet = no allergy for me. Room is considered spacious for the mere MYR180 we paid. There's no view as our room was facing a wall of another building, but it's not a problem for me as no noise will come from the window so I had good sleeps for two nights we were there. The staffs were rather accommodating when I requested to check out at 12 pm instead of 11 am as I have a young nephew tagging along. As for location, this hotel is walking distance from heritage sites like the temples, mosques, love lane and wall arts. We even walked to Chulia street market for inexpensive dinner.

Everything about this hotel is good. Top location, friendly staff, clean, comfortable bed and big room & bathroom. Only minor issues such as no fridge and limited parking. There is a kettle and two mugs but no tea or coffee provided.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back are cooler and less noisy except for the call for prayer time from the mosque.

We stayed in a family room, and it is quite spacious, it comes with two queen sized bed amd the toilet is big and clean.

The beds are quite clean, but there are some stains in the pillow but it's acceptable. There are also some dust in the bed and blanket which causes itchiness on me, but my friends are perfectly fine with it. Guess I'm just being a bit fussy.

The toilet are clean, the towels provided are quite acceptable. Toilet papers provided is a little less for a room of 4 ppl, as they only gave us a roll.

In room entertainment service is quite limited, they only have a few TV channels for you to choose from.

At the same floor of the hotel, there are souvenir shops and a restaurant serving local food, it's not a bad choice for a meal if you do not want to walk far. As in the morning, there are very limited restaurants open around the area. But later in the morning or afternoon onwards, you could find many great foood around the hotel.

It's very centrally located, as it's just a few steps away from the famous Penang street art hunting area. You could easily rent a bicycle (RM10-15) at the street behind the hotel and or get around with a tricycle at around RM30-35 for an hour, to look for the street arts. If you are renting a bicycle just get a map from the hotel staff to get you around the area.

One downside of the place if you are travelling there with a car is that the parking space is very limited, and it is open to non hotel customer too. It could accommodate at most 10-15 cars.

Room Tip: Avoid the road facing room as traffic are heavy always on the main road, and the hotel sound proof i...

The low prices makes you more forgiving for a few shortfalls. Generally, the room is satisfactory. Be open to things like a small stain on the duvet or a stained (not dirty) toilet bowl. No phone in the room which is weird. And no glasses in bathroom to use while brushing teeth. Minor things but they would have perfected the stay. Staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. And food is easily available. Cross the road to Lebuh Kimberley and there are food stalls to fill yourself up even late at night. (To about 11pm/12 am) Those interested in Penang's street art will find them nearby.
