“Sparkling new hotel”

I arrived at Perai late at night, incredibly tired after a long drive I decided to try this new hotel. I seldom stay at a big expensive hotel but there was a promotion price and I just walk in and get myself a room. I love how the hotel separate the smoking and the non-smoking floor (Ii is interesting how they will charge you another RM 50 if they find proof of your smoking on the non-smoking floor). The lobby is really beautiful, modern architecture and ingenious lighting design gave out some kind of luxurious feel to it.

The room was not a disappointment either. It was quite spacious, very clean, with very nice comfy bed, and a nice desk. There's a wide-screen lcd TV, free wifi and they also provide a RJ45 wall socket with the cable. The bathroom is very nice too.

Breakfast is luxurious. There is a lot of choices, some cold cuts, but the best would be the incredibly delicious Honey Sambal prawn.

I will definitely try this hotel again in the future.

It's one of the newer hotel of the bunch in the area (where there are not many hotels anyway)! The place looks clean and new!

Pro: 1. Very new and clean at the reception area. 2. Staff are pretty quick with checking in. 3. Close to a shopping centre and hence eating out is pretty convenient.

Cons: 1. Basics such as in room sandals are not provided upon check in in the room (miraculously appear the next day after their first housekeeping) 2. Newspaper arrives at only about 9AM (which is shockingly late). Furthermore, requested for English newspaper upon check in but was provided a Chinese one instead. 3. Breakfast is really average and unappealing. 4. No amenities like pool or gym.

It's okay for me on a short biz trip but other than that, don't see any good reason for the hotel!

Thank you for staying at Ixora Hotel and many thanks to your valuable feedback.

As for the sandal issue which you mentioned that it appear suddenly the next day, I will follow up with housekeeping again as this is not acceptable to me.

In normal circumstances, whenever you check in, there is already sandal in the room. As for the newspaper issue, we had informed the vendor to send all newspaper before 7am daily , but unfortunately on that day there were logistic issue that caused some delay in delivering the papers.

My sincere apologise. With regards to breakfast issue , we will look into giving more varieties or more spread in our breakfast.

This is a new hotel in the area. Just opened few months ago.

Located just round the corner from the Megamall and other food, commercial and entertainment shops. Also within short walking distance to public bus hub. Very ideal for those who need a place to stay for business trips as the hotel is also near to all the Industrial Estates.

Room rates are a little steep for the area but worth it compared to the nearest other hotels which are older. The room is huge with standard furnishing, everything is brand new, carpets are clean. The bathroom is huge with separate shower area (rain shower). Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful.

Free internet (wired and wifi). As the hotel is new, there are certain amenities still not complete, for example no waste paper basket in the bathroom, no soap dish, comb and cotton buds, small things which I gotten used to when staying in a hotel. We are currently staying in the superior room.

The hotel is still under minor construction on the basement car park and entrance.
