“Value for money but lack of care from the owners”

Stayed for two nights on level 2 for a family wedding over the weekend. First impression was it was reasonably priced for the room size given to us. The toilet was even spacious with two basins which was a good surprise. Sleep quality, including the bedding provided was not bad too. Bed was a touch too stiff to my liking but that is quite subjective.

However, there were a few let downs which made the stay at the hotel, short of total satisfaction.

1. Lights above the work desk was not working. It was pretty dark at that corner when i was working late night on the desk.

2. Air condition when switched on, had an irritating whistling sound. Worse when fan speed is switched to high. Thankfully, me and wife got use to it and fell asleep eventually.

3. Safe deposit was already locked when we check in to the room. Could not use it during my stay there.

The above few issues could have easily been picked up and solved during the hotel's daily maintenance/room cleaning routine but wasn't. Lack of care or attention to details perhaps by the maintenance crew?

Last but not least, in this day and age, the wifi speed available to hotel guests was crawling at an unforgivable speed. Speed was equally slow throughout the three days two nights stay at the hotel, be it in our room, lobby or the hotel ballroom, so reception wasn't the main problem. Please fix this slow wifi speed.

Stayed at Ixora for 3 weeks and let's say it's not the best hotel...overall reception, restaurant and also rooms are ok.Check in went ok for me didn't stay too long.you get quite a big rooms with some amenities.Surprised they don't have a toilet brush, maybe they should think of putting in the bathroom.Major dissapointment for me was the wifi.You could barely open a site or skype.I also need to work from the hotel and that was a challenge.I'm not the first person complainig about this, they definitelly need to upgrade this!Breakfast was average nothing special.Western food is not that good so i suggest you go some place else.There is a big mall right next to the hotel if you're into shopping but that's about all...and also a bar/pub from which you hear karaoke at night(terrible singers!) because the windows don't close properly

Room Tip: if you are a smoker at check in ask for the smoking floors because only on 2 floors you can smoke in...

Stayed for 2nights on 15/3, first impression of the exterior was good till the moment we enter as we travel in a big group of 20 people including children, the glass door for entering the lobby was heavy enough to push/pull and no one came to help with our luggage. Once enter some of the staff loiter around the lobby some stand there stare at us as if we came from Mars... One of the receptionist I am sure she is new in this line as she needs quite some times to check us in, her colleague as usual never bother to help. Positive was their room was big enough with standard item place nicely, breakfast was average. Location wise is abit out of way as nearby mostly are those industry area but it don't bothers us as we have our own transport to travel anywhere, as some had mention over here is that there is a big shopping mall. If there's a chance to visit Penang I doubt I will stay in ixora again.

Overall look nice can stay, 1. when check in, the flow very slow caused we in group but need check in 1 by 1... I think need improve in grouping check in... 2.The room is very nice and comfortable but only the toilet not have pipe for wash after use... please take consideration to put pipe for wash.... 3. The hotel near with the mall can get fast food but surrounding not have choice for eat especially when people need hot cooking (example : seafood, tom yam, fried rice) only 1 or 2 cafe.... 4. breakfast very nice but some menu bowl already empty and need request them for top up caused using small bowl... and check out... Have a nice day...

Arriving in from the island we got to the front door in heat and humidity, with some hefty luggage. Nobody came to take the luggage until I went to the lobby to get the trolley-thing myself. A request had been made for "the quietest room, away from the elevator, ice machines and noise".
Check-in was unusually slow, although there were three people behind the desk, and only us checking in.
A quick check of the room, No. 842, revealed a swarm of dust-bunnies swirling around in the bottom of the closet. Every surface in the room had a black layer of dust on it. So much for placing clean, white business shirts on them! The windows are not sealed, so a whistling sound of the onshore sea-winds provided musical accompaniment. It also allowed mosquitoes to enter.
Then, a pool of water was found in the middle of the bathroom floor.....where the trap under the washbasin had a leak. The shower head is also loose, and does not stay in place.
The safe was jammed open, and we were told, "Oh, the guy with the pass-code won't be in until Monday!" Insistence, and only insistence, got us a safe from another room.
It took an hour to get a corkscrew and two wine glasses, and only four telephone calls to the front desk. The corkscrew was held together with a paperclip, because it was broken. It was like they just listened, and then they dismissed the call as a nuisance, and went back to their mobile-phone games.
The air-conditioning system has a mind of its own. It's like living inside a jet-engine testing facility. There are three settings, Strong, Stronger and Strongest, with a sleep disturbing noise that gets louder each time. If you turn it off you sweat like a pig. Then, you are forced t listen to the karaoke concert that started at 1130pm outside the window, with people who cannot sing on key, at about 120 decibels.
Breakfast is so-so, and that is charitable. The ambiance is set by loud pounding music. The local food is OK, but any Western fare is bland, tasteless and stodgy. The same high-power air-con has dried out the bread and pastries by the time guests get to them. In Cordon Bleu terms, a minus-One Star on the Michelin guide. Weak, watery coffee (instant?). The tables are dirty, being wiped by using one's hand, not a cloth, if at all. Hygiene, where art thou? Sadly absent.
This is the first installment of what will be many, I am sure. If we survive the Ixora!

A hotel good for business trip. Near to industrial park. The staffs are not as good as expected but still acceptable. During night time, mosquito bite was a problem to me in lobby and bar area. Hotel should provide free of charge car parking service. (Nowadays is RM 4.00 per entry).

I had one night stay for business purposes. My first impression was good. Except the concierge didnt open the door for the guests but I dont care that much. Check in was fine as I can understand it was the trainee who entertained me.

But I was delighted by the big room, with facilities inside, eventhough it was only Superior room.

One thing that upset me a lil is the shower gel was left like 60% from overall bottle. I did asked another set of shower, shampoo and conditioner- and I got them replaced. To make it worst, i asked for a lotion but the supervisor of housekeeping refused to gave me the body lotion- the reason is only that my room is not entitled to get the body lotion, and I need to upgrade to deluxe room to be entitled to get a body lotion. I was so upset and feel humiliated, if it was only about a bottle of body lotion that matters to them! This thing has ruined my mood and had me another thought for returning!!!

As the wifi in room- it wasnt that good because it is always disconnected that made me give up and decided to use my mobile internet.

Breakfast is fine, only there were not many choices for main course except for nasi lemak, roti canai and porridge.

But after all, the location is good.
