“Convenient location, comfortable room”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

I stayed at this hotel while on a personal travel leg after a business trip to KK. The hotel is right at the KK waterfront- on the 7th floor of a popular mall. Very easy to get around and convenient for the tour operators or local taxis.

The rooms were small but comfortable. Service was minimal and not expected. Had a hard time getting the air-conditioning on and also switching TV channels- thanks to a surprisingly hard remote. The bathroom was small but comfortable. The toiletries were minimal.

There was no food on offer at the hotel. So had to look for food options on my own, which were a little hard to find for vegetarians (except for the pizza/pasta places at the waterfront). My tariff did not include breakfast- which was good since there was absolutely no veg options on the menu. Breakfast option is Starbucks (inside the mall itself). There is also a McDonalds nearby (where one could try finding veg options such as Fries / Ice Creams/ Milk shakes).

Toilet was blocked from the moment we checked in, called front desk multiple times until they sent a maintenance officer to unclog it..was okay until the next use, its all clogged up again, they sent the guy again , OK for awhile then clogged up again..front desk officer refused to change us to another room as rooms are all fully booked, claimed the supeevisor . water in the shower is also not warm and sheets have a weird smell to it. Look around for better hotel, this is definitely not the best alternative within this or CE range

I arrived at the hotel in the eve of Malaysia National Day or Independent Day around 12.30 am after 1 hour and 25 minutes flight from Kuching, Sarawak. Well i already booked a room there which i got only twin bed room it cost me around RM155/night. Well , i agree with the deal since most room already fully booked especially during this season.

I was greet by the friendly staff that night even they worked during graveyard shift but they still can smile. Well, the wifi only available at the lobby and you can request for the password from the reception counter. And she gave me room 206 just around the corner.

At my suprise, the wifi also available inside the room with strong connection. I can save my data usage on my mobile as well by updating the apps. I'm searching for a windows, well theres a windows but only with brick wall outside. So theres no view, it still ok. At first, i thought its normal for the Aircond switch off automatically every 45 minutes. Because i cant really sleep without AC. Then tommorow when my son with me at the hotel, i have to combine the 2 single beds together so it make one big bed. But i still feel weird with the AC.

So tommorow on 1st September, i asked for the lady at the counter to call for a technician to check it. But when i got back, it still happen. So, i begin to investigate what's going on. My friend told me which is the regular customer with the hotel, the hotel management already setting it that way to reduce electric bills. Hmmm.. Thats not a good excuse i think. So, it will be like that in every room. Well, my body also feel tired with too many luggage to carry, i cancel my plan to move to another hotel. Have to take it for granted. By the way, my advice, if you like to be inside descent room with affordable price, this is for you. But if you love to get relax inside cold room like a mortuary, well, better find another hotel.

The hotel has a great location BUT if you want a nice hotel with pleasant surroundings, don't stay here. My room had ants in it which the hotel staff were blase about but offered me a different room to stay in. The room did have a sea view though which was lovely. The staff are nice once you speak to them, but they're not very friendly and could do with some customer service training. There is free wifi though and proximity to the coffee shops is good for local breakfast which is great. It's a hotel from which you can do excursions from but not one you want to spend time in.

Room Tip: request a sea view

Stayed here for 4 nights for business trip.
Budget rate with basic facilities, but without breakfast.
Free Wifi only at lobby area. Staff was friendly and helpful, we had requested for changing to another the room, due to the original room toilet is very hard to flush ...
The sound proofing between room is not that good, I can hear the TV sound from beside room.
The location is central, approximately 15mins walk to Jesselton Point area.

This place is not a bad base for KK, the rooms are clean and comfortable, they change sheets and towels daily, bathRooms are well equipped and it is just a comfortable and convenient base. It is worth noting that the rooms have windows that open to a corridor so you may as well not have a window at all, they have ancient crappy wifi that only works in the reception and does not cover the rooms which is pretty unforgivable in this day and age. To add insult to injury on this front you can always pick up a strong wifi signal from the Kalgan hotel next door in your rooms! Just not from this hotel...

Not a bad place or a few nights in KK. Not overly flash or fancy but a bargain for the price, offer good rates for late checkout. Can access the city easily by foot. Wifi available which is a little slow, but hey you're on holidays right? Rooms are a decent size, clean and comfortable with helpful staff. Almost didn't stay here after reading the reviews, but you get what you pay for and for the price I had no complaints ! Good place to access shopping, restaurants, sightseeing etc, central location means you're close to everything. Buffet breakfast not too bad, nothing gourmet but good enough to feed your face and fuel up for the day. We'd stay again purely for the price and convenience of the location.
