The place itself is a 10 minute drive from the airport. If you use the Grab app that's a MYR9/ ride (vs 30 using the white taxi booth inside the airport).
Hotel is new(ish), nice rooftop pool, buffet breakfast was ok and staff were nice enough.
We have a few recommendations if you choose to stay there:
1. Expect a bit of chaos at the front desk. Out first night (8th July) our room wasn't available but we were offered a paid upgrade (50 bucks I think) to upgrade to the executive floor where a room was (astonishingly) available. We took the option. Room was ok, executive lounge was average I suppose, average food, not great drinks selection. Personally I wouldn't bother with it.
Second night (12th July) we checked in to be told the "system was down" so we did a "manual check in". Well that was obviously rubbish as when we got to "our room" we opened the door to find someone else's stuff all over the room !
Then we were offered "an upgrade" from ~ yes not to ~ the executive floor to some pokey room on the third floor overlooking the road at the front of the hotel. Being a bit tired we didn't bother to complain and just sucked it up.
We ate at the rooftop bar / restaurant where to be frank the food was bloody awful. Burger had so much sauce added it disolved the bun into a soggy inedible mess. The other dish was ordered was the pear and gorgonzola pizza which is best avoided.
Staff though all over the hotel were really nice, made the other chaos bearable.
