We were so lucky to get to see a full bloom that was 3 days old as well as see another bud working it’s way. We were told that this wasn’t a normal time for bloom so being able to see one was even more special. There were also other great trees and vegetation to learn about.

We drove 2 hours from Kota Kinabalu only to find that the centre was closed until further notice. Unfortunately no one has updated the website and so it still appears open.

We drove all the way to be here to see Rafflesia but the place is closed for maintenance. Why there is no announcement to public and we were so disappointed.

Before going there get info on the presence of flowers which last just over a week and could be absent for up to 9 months

Managed to see one in bloom and one dying out. However, $20 per person was a bit steep for an entrance fee for a very short walk/hike into the growth area. it only took us 10 minutes to complete everything.
