It mentions "Kasih Sayang Health Resort", so I went with my friends to try their healthy food menu during last weekend 13April2013. We are so pleased with the food there, salad, yogurt and fruit juice. Healthy and nice.

Friendly staff, cool temperature.

The location on Google map is wrong. Please follow below:

My husband and I travelled up to Kasih Sayang Resort last weekend, just to see if the food was as bad as the reviews said. We were pleasantly surprised with a warm welcome, prompt service and great food which was delivered quickly to our table. The view is a photographers dream and the temperature is a few degrees cooler than KK with nice breezes. So, don't be put of by previous negative comments, go see for yourself!

Situated on top of Kokol Hill, very cooling, feels just like being in Kundasang. Fresh air, greens everywhere.
Did not stay so could not comment on room. Had my dinner with my family. Order Oxtail Asam Pedas, Soto & Nasi Lemak Special. Food is quite a big disappointment. Instant noodle actually taste better than the Soto Soup.Oxtail Asam Pedas was full of "fats", not much meat. Nasi Lemak was just OK. Could find the same quality in a normal coffee shop. F&B was also overpriced. Paid RM75 for the above items plus 1 Coffee.
Coffee was cold, could not even melt my dairy creamer.

They rare cute little colourful birds that attracts my little ones instantly. Also cute little rabbits.

Recommended to visit but do not expect much on food.

We were there for only a night (over a weekend), but I believe a night would be perfect enough.

So how do you get there? There are no public buses going up the hill, so I suggest you could rent a car (better 4WD, but anything will do cause I did it with my Gen2) among your friends for a night or two or something. If that is too costly for you, opt to take a cab and share it with each other. But coming down would be tricky so you might want to arrange with the cab driver for pickup.

The view driving uphill got immaculate every few minutes. Amazing new sights catch our roaming eyes every now and then, it was a like a feast to the eyes and soul. Everything was just so beautiful.

There were a few families at the resort at that time - kids running around, parents doing their own share of romantic catchups. It's a perfect family place for a weekend getaway. Other activites including walking down the trail and walk around where the greens take you.

We stayed at the Standard Room (two singles), with THE MOST AMAZING VIEW. Front view of the resort would be the regal Mt. Kinabalu, and behind us is the KK City View. Forget TV, naturally detailed view like this is simply THE way to go.

There were chirpings of birds, nibbling of insects. We should constantly remind ourselves how beautiful and calming nature is. Especially while we still can. All these might just disappear in time. We had dinner at the resort's restaurant with the picture perfect KK City as our view.

I 'm glad the food wasn't expensive - in fact, some were even cheaper. Mum loved the broth, while I had some carbonara to chomp it all down. Nothing was hiked up so dramatically, and they have these amazing healthy drinks that tasted so delicious and supposedly to be good for you :)

The buffet breakfast was adequately done up. Nothing extravagant to shout about but there were the usual coffees, teas, eggs, hotdogs, meehuns and toasts - all the right things to make a good breakfast :)

A perfect place for a short, weekend getaway. Located up high, somewhere on the Crocker Range, so close yet it felt so far from the hustle & bustle of city life (it's actually located less than 30 km from Kota Kinabalu town!). A bit pricey though, both the room rates & the food. But the view you've got to experience from your balcony is super awesome! (& the food is not bad too)

This resort up on the hill is only ideal for a weekend getaway and just for a night. My partner and I checked in on a wednesday evening in a Standard Room. Whilst the room is pretty and clean and spacious, the water pressure in the shower is terrible and there is almost no hot water at all! It was freezing in the night and morning when we took our showers.

We had our dinner that evening. My partner ordered beef steak with black pepper sauce and i ordered something else. We even asked for our orders to be repeated by the attendant just to ensure he gets it right. When my partner's steak came, it was totally not as how he wants it. Instead of having a separate black pepper sauce to pour on the steak, the steak was served with a spaghetti sauce on it. Of course it has ruined everything. When we asked for the food to be changed, all they could do for recovery is offer black pepper sauce. I mean, what now? Pour over the black pepper sauce on to the steak that has already a spaghetti sauce on it and ruining the taste even more?

I don't think the staff there no what service is at all. Our food orders took more than an hour to get to us and the restaurant wasn't even busy. There were less than 10 people there. We understand if the resort isn't rated 5 star or no star at all, but at least know what service is all about. If you don't know what service is all about, then don't even bother opening this kind of 'resort' at all. The least that the management could do is to do some trainings with staff.

It seems like the resort isn't well-maintained. You could see things are starting to fall apart and look old. The wooden floors in the restaurant could be varnished and make it look new. This resort is situated on a hill overlooking the whole of Kota Kinabalu, great views....but nothing would be that great anymore if you don't pay attention to maintaining the physical look of your property and the quality of service and food.

The room was lovely, but i wouldn't come back to stay.

The food suxx.... nice view but no homely touch u usually see in malaysian resorts. cut throat prices for the transportation from kiansom to the resort. manager, i believe named leonard is no where to be seen. nothing much to do above there eventhough in our teleconversation with the manager says so many stuffs. journey up is treacherous especially during the rainy season. dangerous. frenly staffs, but prepare to wait at least 45min to an hour to get ur food served. night time, there is nothing much to do unless you can just stare at the view of kk town from there for hours.
conclusion, highway to hell is much better and more exciting if u compare it with kasih sayang resort.
