The housekeeping staff in there is so friendly. Im feel like my own home in here and bring my family here in november. What i dont like here is the security they just look like american mafia with the yellow shirt. Please improve your food service also in here because its sometime taste like bittersweet

Booked this Hotel on an Air Asia package tour. Stayed for 3 nights and 4days but was refused an upgrade. While the rest of the package was good, the room classified as 'Galleria' is a horribly small dungeon with no fresh air. Felt musty and smelled with smoke. Even a room change was not helpful and the staff were quite unfriendly and unhelpful. Even the A/C was not working well. The bed linen had stains and I had to complain to get them changed. The toilet/shower area was mouldy and smelly in both the rooms. Left without much choice. The Hotel is far away from City Center. Free bus service is available every hour to the City Centre but yoiu have to book in advance. The shops incl. food stalls in the Borneo Mall were high priced. I found many better places to stay in the City Centre with similar or lower daily rates such as Le Meridien/Cititel Express/Promenade/King Park. Swimming pool looked dirty too.

Room Tip: I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels and this hotel is no way near to any of them. I will rate...

The location of the hotel is good as it is attached to a big shopping mall with alot of restaurants. I had booked a Deluxe room - it is spacious, clean and the bathroom is big in size. Breakfast in the morning is ok - quite a good selection. The front desk service is good and very efficient. The gym is very basic with 2 treadmills in good working condition. Did not have a chance to try the pool - it looks ok though. Good value for money. Only complain - the room looks like it will need a good makeover soon as it looks like it is falling apart with a lot of cracks.

I booked the room because of my business trip for 1 night. The room is quite stylish and spacious with affordable price. If you are government servant, you can book the hotel with cheaper rates.

It is easily accessible to shopping mall called 1 Borneo as it is attached to the shopping malls. The rates includes breakfast and the food is delicious and nice. You can take whatever you like as it is buffet style with variety types of cuisines. For opinion, 2nd floor have much more food options compare to 15th floor.

There is one thing that really make me feel good service is their amenities. The room not only have free cozy slippers but also hair dryer that hang inside the bathroom. Their receptionist also quite friendly with a warm smile always on their face.

Besides, they have free shuttle bus for their occupants to go to Kota Kinabalu city centre. I went to Philippines market, Wawasan Plaza and etc.

If I have time to have a vacation here, I think this hotel will be my choice again for my next trip.

My husband and I stayed here the night after we climed mt kinabalu and it was awful, we booked a club room as a treat for compleating the climb, a bath was an essential to sooth our weary legs but on arrival we had to be shown 3 rooms and all of them were dirtly the baths had mold and one room the bath was covered in someone elses hair, in the end after trying 3 rroms we gave up and settled for one which had mold in the bath so we had to make do with a shower. In general the room was dirty with tops of surfaces not wiped down properly. The staff did not appear to understand my complaints and thought that the room was acceptable.

The food was poor some of the worst I have experienced in a so called 4 star hotel, for all the fancy decor and the posh bar this hotel was below avergae for a four star.

With regard to the location this is out of the way and a taxi ride into town, there are no decent restaurants or bars so all in all I did not see the advantage in staying on this retail park.

My advice to anyone would be if you can afford to pay a bit extra you would be better going for one of the four stars in KK town centre I know I wish we had.

We had booked two superior rooms and stayed for 3 nights. The counter staff was helpful enough to help us to book similar floors which is close to each room. Bed was comfy and had very good sleep throughout. Rain shower was excellent. Best is the location as it is within the 1borneo mall itself. There is a small door entrance exit to the mall. Anytime when you are handfull with shopping bags, it is very convenient to drop them at hotel whenever you like. Another good point is there is half-hourly shuttle bus service to Warisan Square (DownTown) where you can explore the town. The breakfast was just normal and repeated for same 3 days. One thing to improve is its housekeeping service. Table room was dusty and throughout the 3 days, the floor was never swept or vacuum. That's why there's a room slipper for. J/K. Anyway, would definitely go back to stay again.

Stayed at Grand Borneo Hotel as part of our family holiday. Decided to stay here because it is connected with a large shopping centre. The hotel is fantastic. The room we stayed at is quite spacious, nice comfortable bed, big bathroom with a nice view. If you booked the Grand Deluxe room you get to checked in on another floor where you can have free internet access, cocktails, drinks and breakfast. Be advise though, having breakfast at 15th floor, you won't have much of a selection as we discovered during our stay..although you get the personal attention by the staff. If you want selection head down to the 2nd floor for the breakfast...much bigger selection. Special mention must go to the staff during breakfast..they're very quick and efficient in helping us with clearing plates or cleaning up spill. The hotel has an undercover pool but haven't seen much people using it. Probably because the hotel is connected to the shopping centre.
We have shopped so much during our stay! The location is extremely handy with a toddler who is very messy and you could just head back to your room for a quick change and head back out again.
The only downside is the place looks like it needs a good renovation..considering it is only couple of years old! The window have marks on it, the corridor wall is falling apart and the lift are slow and not a lot...you could be waiting for 5 minutes before the lift get to you. There are 3 other hotels next to this one so the entrance is going to be messy when all the tour buses arrived at the same time as we have witness. The distance to the city is quite far especially when you factor in traffic jam..which is everyday in that area. All in all...all these downsides are minor, will definitely come back for another stay.
