“Unexpected - Great Indian Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2013

We have been to Kohinoor many times now after our holiday's to Borneo. A great feast at a super cheap price. If you are in the KK area and like a Nice Indian meal, then drop by the Kohinoor.

“excellent food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013

The set menu is very good and good value as alcohol is included. My favourite dish was the fish platter ( 43 ringett) 4 large prawns and tandour cooked fish. Wonderful. Aso loved the naan breads espcially the onion one. Staff friendly and helpful

“Came for a snack and stayed for dinner!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2013

We really weren't going to have Indian again on our overseas trip, but we couldn't help it! After a long day wandering around (and a few cold beers!) we were longing for a snack of some naan. So we opted for a small butter chicken and a garlic naan, which was gone in about 3 minutes. Instead of moving to a local place we opted for a large portion of butter chicken, a regular naan and a cheese naan - and we weren't disappointed!

Yes, of course the food is slightly more expensive than eating at the local markets, but you're right on the waterfront and the service and food were excellent. Wouldn't have thought twice about eating there again!

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2013

Went to eat here to enjoy the food and the location. Prepared for it to be more expensive than a back street restaurant. But we were disappointed.

It was a lunchtime and there were only two other customers other than us. Whilst the service was OK, it lacked any enthusiasm, rather like our food (Mutton Curry and Chicken Bryani) both of which lacked any kind of "oomph!".

(We had looked at the restaurant the night before, but could not get a table as there was a private party of fifty being served - perhaps we suffered from "the morning after the night before")

Anyway, we won't bother with a further visit.

“Great Tandoori in a Lovely Waterfront Setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2013

This restaurant has delicious Tandoori dishes and naan bread with good-sized servings. The chicken garlic tikka was especially good. The waterfront outlook was really topped off the evening. This restaurant is a little more expensive than average Kota Kinabalu restaurants, especially the alcoholic drinks and corkage charges, but definitely worth it.
