“It's a reasonable place to eat”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

We ate here on recommendation and had an enjoyable meal which didn't reach great heights. Beef ran dang was good and other dishes were tasty without having that extra flavour dimension that draws you back. Clean and yes they charge for the extras without telling you but it's hardly going to break the budget in an otherwise reasonable value eatery.

“Family dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

A very nice restaurant with great Malaysian food. Definitely value for money.
I asked the hotel porter for the name of a good Malaysian restaurant and without hesitation Sri Melaka was recommended. Very glad we followed the porter's suggestion, great little find. The best meal of all the dining experiences since arriving in KK. The restaurant has no real 'street appeal' but don't let that put you off. Decor is simple and comfortable - no tablecloths. Service friendly and fast.

“No need for extra charges.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2014 via mobile

In some countries the extra charge for peanuts and a towel would be understandable but living in Malaysia I think this is the only place I have dined which operates this shady tactic. Of course it's not a lot but it's annoying.

The food is just Ok for KK.

I won't be returning as there are better, cheaper places that don't charge for you to clean your hands!

“Just ok.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014

I don't really understand what other reviewers were so excited about. The food was fine but nothing special. As others have mentioned, they will charge you for the peanuts and moist towelettes (check your bill: they tried to charge us even though we didn't use them) and probably for the waters they placed on the table. It was very clean inside but looked somewhat like a cafeteria.
Prices were 10, 18-20, and 25 Ringgit for S, M, and L respectively. Two of us split a steamed rice and 2 small dishes which didn't quite fill me up.

“Tasty Food, Friendly Sevice and Excellent Value for Money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2014

Sri Melaka offers tasty food, friendly service and great value for money. Its also air conditioned, well lit and clean. Staff are friendly and happy to make suggestions if you need a little local guidance. Likes for us were the Curry Chicken, the Assam Fish and the Black Pepper Beef. Small note of caution - as is often the norm - the peanuts, pickled garnish and refresher towellettes, etc offered over the course of the meal will be added to your bill if you avail yourself of them. In a value for money context the Sri Melaka was the best restaurant experience we had in KK. Recommended!
