My friends and I stay at 1 City Hotel for 2 nights over the weekends. Ms Sandra and her team have delivered an excellence service and great hospitality.

The location of the hotel is very strategic, near to Gaya Street, Waterfront and Filipino market. Around 10-15 mins walking distance to Jesselton Jetty. Many local coffee shops are around the corner.

The room is well equipped with basic amenities. The bathroom is clean and the room is just nice to accommodate 2 guests.

With the affordable price and strategic location, 1 city hotel is definitely your choice!

I stayed here with my mom over one night in June. We got a deluxe room because it was their only vacancy left but for the price we paid, it was an excellent decision.

The room was big with two single beds and it had cosy lighting. The room also came with a flat-screen TV which was a rarity in Sabah.

The staff were friendly and accommodating to our check in timings and even helped us hang on to our luggage while we went out shopping.

The hotel was also located in a very central location, which made it easy to go shopping and grab good food. I drove and parking was ample in the evenings right out in front of the hotel.

All in all a pleasant stay and I will definitely return here on my next visit.

I stayed here for 1 night. It's strategic and located at the heart of the city. There are many bars, shopping centers, convenient stores around. You'll never feel bored if you enjoy the night life. It is also near some attractions, such as Filipino Market, Central Market and the port. Walk along the port and enjoy the sea breeze, it certainly will rejuvenate you. We got a little bit shocked when we first saw the appearance of this hotel because it is located at a very dated shoplot building, but luckily the room condition is quite ok. Overall the room is clean, especially the bathroom is flawlessly clean with a good rain shower.head. The location is pretty good as well because you can walk across the street to Gaya street where the Sunday morning market is located. Plenty of good food around also, like the Fu Yuen coffee shop for good bread, Upperstar restaurant for cheap beer, Yee Fung for laksa etc.

Another thing to highlight is the good service provided by the front desk Sandra, very friendly and helpful lady :)

The only flaw is that there is unpleasant smell in the room, probably due to the air filter in the old-fashioned air cond. Anyway, for the price you pay, it's still a pretty worthy hotel stay.

Without fail, top Tripadvisor hotels lives to its reputation. I book the family room and fit 5 adults into the room. This hotel is a shop lot hotel, and it surpass our expectation. The room has a King and Single bed, and we aded 2 more additional bed. The room was clean, and the sheets and pillow were clean without any smell. The toilet is also clean and the surprising thing is that they change the towels everyday. We did not expect that.

The location of the hotel is at Segama, which is a few minutes walk to the Peer, Gaya St. and Markets. Its one of the best location as you do not need any other kind of transport to explore the city. Its close to Gaya St, Chinatown, thus close to many local Chinese food.

The only reason I am not scoring 5star is because of the windows. They are single glazed, and so the sound of the streets did bother us the first night. Our first night was Saturday night, and the Karaoke oposite the hotel blaze till late at night. Subsequent nights, there as no late night singing.
