We stayed at Hotel Eden54 for 3 nights. The rooms are quite fully booked hence we had to change rooms everyday. The hotel staff Ling Ling assured us that it is hassle-free and they will move our lugguage and belongings to a new room while we are out having fun. For 3 nights, we stayed at 3 different room types - Compact S, Compact D and Studio Plus and it was a refreshing experience! We were very impressed with the clean and cosy rooms and the friendly staff definitely made our stay a very pleasant one.

Because of the great reviews here I booked a week in Eden54 and while it's nice I don't think it really deserves all the fantastic ratings it's been getting.

Firstly the good, the staff are excellent, friendly, helpful, my booking was short notice and after initially telling me no rooms they called back a day later. Great. Secondly the location, it's brill for the Island ferries, just round the corner, theres a good (but expensive) supermarket next door and it's 5 mins walk to a couple of decent shopping centres. It's the other end of town to the bus terminal & bigger shopping malls but it's quiet at night. The lounge area is nice & free bottled water is a good touch.

Now the less than perfect, WiFi is advertised but it's painfully slow, Satellite TV is advertised but it's the basic 9 or so channels of rubbish, no BBC, HBO, Sports etc, and given the amount of afternoon rain here that's poor. No breakfast for this price of hotel room is really bad and there are no decent options near open early. We have stayed in a lot of hostels / hotels that cost 60RM a night, our room at Eden54 was double that but the experience wasn't twice as good.

Overall a nice place to stay but don't believe the hype, there are better value options if you are staying a while.

Hi Ceekaye, just to make sure other readers don't misunderstand your review;

Our wifi service depends on our internet service provider which is usually good enough for browsing and doing normal work but sometimes the server encounters problems which may cause the connection to be slower than usual and beyond our control.

We do have basic channels for News, ESPN sports and movies as well but perhaps they aren't the ones that you like. Because it is received by a satellite dish, that also means that at times the reception will be interrupted by heavy rain and thunderstorms.

There are plenty of coffeeshops nearby along Gaya Street that opens at 7 am with good decent breakfast at an affordable price. We are more than happy to provide suggestions of places to eat for guests who enquire of us.

A new 'boutique' looking hotel on one end of Gaya Street. Price is reasonable as we were sharing a king size bed and a spare mattress among 3 people. The hotel's on the first floor however, so probably not good for those who are pirate limping around KK from the post-mountain climb leg strains.
Would say that the service is good, and they have fast and free wireless, BUT when we got there the hallways did smell of puke and the bathroom doors don't quite close properly, the shower head holder is not attached to the wall (which leads to a lot of unnecessary head injury in the shower) and the traffic outside seems to be quite loud for saying that the windows are supposed to be sealed. These are minor flaws though, and this is a good hotel for traveler types who aren't too fussy. The hotel seems to be popular too, so book early.

Hotel Eden54 is a great find. It is a newer boutique hotel, so not as well known (yet). We stayed a total of three nights and were very happy with the hotel and its staff all around. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, good showers and the AC felt great after sticky days in KK. The hotel is a very short walk from the Jesselton Point, and other points in the city.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights for our Kota Kinabalu visit. And we were really satisfied with their service, especially for the warm hospitality provided by Ling Ling and Rosanne. Apart from its comfort and reasonable pricing, this hotel is strategically located within the Kota Kinabalu city centre, at the famous Jalan Gaya. It's next to Tong Hing supermarket. Suria Sabah hypermall, Jesselton Point (ferry/boat jetty to go to nearby Islands), major banks are all within short walking distance.

We enjoyed our stay at eden54 and will definitely choose this hotel again when we visit Kota Kinabalu again in future.

really well located - easy walking distance to anywhere in the city. Extremely helpful staff, also sorted out a really good car rental for us with almost no notice. V clean modern rooms with good showers, very comfortable.

Got to know some very positive remarks about Eden54 from TripAdvisor and my family and I decided to check it out during our holiday trip to Kota Kinabalu Sabah. True enough those remarks made were right. From the day we stepped foot into the hotel till the day we left we have nothing but praise for the staffs there and the hotel. Especially Ling Ling who did a marvelous job arranging transport and tour guide for our trip around KK and beyond. The ambience in the hotel is so cozy and soothing that we did not want to leave when the time comes. Keep up the good work. Will definitely recommend others to stay at Eden54.
