“Average, touristy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2012

This was not my favorite. Food was dull. The experience of paying for a napkin didn't make it better. They placed some nuts and vegies on the table then charged for them. The fish was fine but the whole experience was dull and pretty unfriendly.

“Stunning but has flaws that should not be there”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2012

The butter lobster was incredible. So were the oysters and then the vermicelli and finally the abalone. This is a place that has chefs that should have 1 michelin stars but for the cracks in the service.

The red snapper I ordered arrived 20 minutes after my family finished eating and I sent it back. They did not make a fuss but this was unacceptable. The beer was warm instead of chilled. They served the chinese tea using a beer pitcher!

Food is very good. Service is.... best viewed with one eye closed.

Note: Cheap. Order as much as you like.

“Simply Stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2012

It's so nice to walk into a restaurant off the street and have it turn out to be a mind blowing experience. My partner and I stumbled across this place after passing it in a taxi a few times and it turned out to be one of the best restaurants we have ever been to.

You actually select your seafood from fish tanks in a room next to where you are seated. A waiter comes with you and makes suggestions or answers questions. We chose some prawns, a medium size Groper, some scallops and some rice and vegies.

It was served in lightning fast time and you couldn't get fresher seafood. Service was amazing and the whole meal as stated above plus a few beers was just $60 Australian. They welcome you to take pics and selections include giant and I mean GIANT Tiger Prawns, crabs, lobsters, all kinds of fish - it really is a unique and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

“Mantis Prawns and Gong Gong (Conch) Shellfish”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2012

The Mantis prawns were the biggest Idel had so far and they were meaty and sweet. The Gong Gong shellfish were steamed well and not one was bad. That's the mark of a good seafood restaurant.
