“Good place to bring kids”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

A very nice family park for the kids, also has a jogging track and a man-made lake. The musical fountain is very interesting. The playground needs maintenance to keep it child-friendly and safe because of it many visitors day in and out. My favorite restaurant is BoBaChaCha, because of it kids-friendly service and decent food.

Basically the water fountain view is nice and ok, but if you compare to Macau and Sentosa Hotel, erm.. bit far behind. The park is super clean and nice enviroment.

“Urgent Repair Needed on Playground Facilities!”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

The kids wanted some spare time during school breaks to visit the only decent 'park' in Kota Kinabalu - The Perdana Park. In fact, it is their favourite park. It has been quite a while since our last visit. It has always been special to be back here as previously, the 'Hone Place' football field (where Perdana Park now lies) is where the fond memories of active and happy growing-up began. However, to our dismay & disbelief, after only a short period of time in operation as a public park, the tear and wear were obviously visible especially on the children's playground and it is only a matter of time that some of the equipments will fall apart entirely, and 'palis-palis' someday, someone will fall prey to some serious injuries. I agree that maintenance is an inevitable issue, but the initiative and constant effort to eradicate the possibility of an accident must be pursued and placed as top priority. No two ways about it. Bear in mind that we are engaging public interest in this sense especially the children whom are the primary user of the product. Some of the spotted deteriorating hardware are:
1. Certain parts of the spongy bitumens which are dreadly losing off. The surface is now roughly exposed.
2. One of the baby swing is broken. It was also broken during my last visit. Say 6 months ago? I am very surprised that the maintenance personal did not spot this.
3. Two charts or pieces of the Merry-Go-Round platform had gone estranged. Best part was that the broken platforms were hidden amongst the admiring plants nearby.
4. One of the many top 'sliding tube' was broken. You could now see through that particular tube. (It is the lower tube next to the monkey bar) The main concern are the sharp edges of that broken tube. You would not want your kid to be there.
As a tax payer and paying guest for your carpark entrance, we are not here to list down all the defects. It is the sole jurisdiction and responsibility of the service provider to ensure that all the necessary equipments and safety aspects are in immaculate condition, and functioning well without fail. It is a common public expectation for a public park. Take ownership and live up to the call and deliver the results for what Perdana Park is all about. It is only an opinion to whoever is running the show that we pay RM1 for your entrance, yes only RM1 but please get your acts right, do something and don't be complacent. Simple rule of thumb - it reflects back on you.

“Broken playground equipment”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

My family have been visiting Perdana park with our young son for the past 18 months. Over the months we have noticed the playground equipment fall into a state of disrepair with no attempt by the park management to fix it. One of the baby swings has been broken for over a year. The welding on bouncy seesaw has cracked and what anchors it to the ground is broken making it a hazard to any young child as the entire thing is about to fall over. Climbing ropes are badly frayed, pieces of the standing platform has come off the merry - go - round and the spongey bitumen throughout the playground is extremely worn with holes exposing the concrete beneath.
For a park which charges an entrance fee, I would have expected the playground equipment to be better maintained.

Please fix this Perdana management. It is a popular park with plenty of income flowing in as evidenced by the dozens of families who come to watch the musical fountain each night. As this is the only park in KK worth visiting, how about giving some back to the patrons who keep your park going and give us a safe and well maintained park.
