“Don't be conned by the seafood display!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2014

Been there many times, from bad to worst. By looking at the seafood displayed there, one can be easily duped into believing that this is the seafood haven, but after having your stomach filled, you know you've been conned! The big prawns were too soft and tasteless, means those were not from the sea as claimed. The fish ordered got a funny taste. And to make things worse, they overcooked every single dish we ordered, even the vege! And the price was exorbitant! The place was crowded, hot and smoky, the floor was wet and dirty. I would highly recommend others just come to see the seafood displayed, but for those who are really into the taste, just go to whatever seafood restaurant in the town, trust me, you can get a much cheaper bargain, much comfortable environment, and most importantly, much tastier meal with different style of cooking. And many are halal.

“Great food, very cheap, bustling atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2014 via mobile

If you're ready to indulge in pure hawker style food, then this is the place to be! The stalls are laid up with a variety of fresh vegetables, meats, seafood and the lot.
The place can be very smoky and crowded. The seafood is pretty good, though I would question how fresh the seafood actually is. All in all, it's quite an experience and highly recommended.

“Terrible, prawns overcooked and with no flavour”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2014 via mobile

Thankfully we only ordered half kilo of prawns as they were terrible. So overcooked on the BBQ and no flavour. Not fresh either as lacking the saltiness of fresh ocean prawns. Would've been better cooked on the grill but the woman cooking was overcooking everything. Seems this is the same cooking style for all the vendors. Yuck!

“fantastic fresh seafood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014

The markets are bustling and full of life. The seafood is fresh and on ice. Go pick your seafood - fish, lobster, crab, king prawn, bugs etc, have a seat and they will cook it for you. Very reasonable for fresh seafood. Have a tiger beer to wash it down..
