The hotel is what I consider as boutique hotel. In term of value for money (room spaciousness, furniture, services) I will give it a high mark. The room we get is a big family room with 2 queen beds and still ample space for the kids to go running around the room. And by the way why kids like to run all the time but when they grown up they are just too lazy to move? I know I was like that before.
Back to the hotel, the furniture is modern, the bath room and shower is spacious and modern too with that rain type shower that kids adore very much but makes me anxious because every i switched on the shower, i am not sure if the water will come from above or from the shower head at the front. its ok if u r butt naked but when i wanted to wash my youngest one and i was fully clothes, it was like playing russian roulette, without being russian or have russian id or passport.
The facilities are great, i had free internet and kettle. TV channels are good but be careful if you have kids who like to simply press anything on the remote. They have this sophisticated, modern tv channel system where you can pay as you watch. So you have movies and also games. So you know how kids love to play games, because you too love it, and unlike kids, they dont have to pay for it and we parents will end up paying for the games on tv. So make that angry face, tune up your stern voice and told them, do not press ok on those pay movies or games on TV.
Location wise is very good. Restaurants all around and the mall just behind the hotel. The hotel also have a bakery and their breads they are selling are really delicious. Very nice. And the place is also near to the filipino market (for seafood), that gawai market every sunday. Really close to everything i would say.
Now for the negativitiy. Only one, Parking. If you happen to drive to this hotel, be prepared to tour around and around and around and around and around to look for parking. It is smacked in the middle of the city, so parking is hard to find.
Conclusion, if you are travelling with family it is a good place to stay and it is very near to everything you need in KK.

Sixty3 was just a last second choice since we couldn't handle another night of wet clothes and freezing temperatures on Mt. Kinabalu.

But as it turned out, this place is a lot nicer than it's exterior proclaims.

True, we didn't really put it through it's paces since we only stayed one night, but the price is low, the check-in service good, rooms are clean, and best of all, the skylight and deco on the top floor is super. So if you're booking, request the top floor for sure.

Can't really comment on breakfast, fitness center or swimming pool (if they even have one), but for a quick stay, I'd highly recommend Hotel Sixty3.

My best friend and I stayed at this hotel for 4 days. It is very accessible to almost anything--malls, restaurants, etc. The room we got was big, actually bigger than we thought. It has a safety deposit box, which is one of the important things I look for in a hotel. We had a problem with it at first though because some of the buttons were not working. I also like the fact that they have this eco movement where you can opt to reuse your towels during your stay, and in return you will get a 4 Ringgit voucher per day of involvement.

The staff were very accommodating and courteous. When we had to leave our luggage because we arrived early, they assisted us at once. The hotel also has their in-house tour agency (or so I think) that offers variety of tours in KK. They too were very accommodating and patient with our inquiries. Our driver was even nice enough to bring us to the Cocoa Boutique and airport at a cheaper price than the taxi.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently due to our plans changing and us needing a hotel at the last minute before we went onto our final hotel. We picked this hotel based on the good reviews and how cheap it was.

This hotel is great value for money, we booked a suite which was massive and only cost us £70 per night. The suite was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was very modern. The only thing I would say is on the surface it looked quite new/modern but when you looked a bit closer you could see wear and tear and tatty bits that need updating. The bathroom was massive which was great, and I loved the big rain shower. We didn't actually use the spa bath so can't comment on that.

Check in was quick, although none of the staff at reception were overly friendly. They were polite enough whenever we went to ask any questions but there weren't many smiles or a friendly face greeting you.

Wifi was free, however, it was absolutely appalling! We only just got signal if we sat in certain parts of the room. If you sat out in the hall way area then you got good signal as you could go and sit under the routers, but in the rooms it wasn't worth bothering with.

The location of the hotel is great for exploring Kota Kinabalu as it's right in the centre. There are several good restaurants nearby too.

My fiancé forgot his charger and only realised when we were at our next hotel, we rang the hotel and asked them to look for it but didn't hear anything back. We had to go into Kota Kinabalu a few days later as needed a pharmacy so called into the hotel to check and they had found the charger but just hadn't bothered to contact us. This was a little frustrating as if we hadn't gone back I doubt we would have heard from them and his charger would have stayed there, which would have been a shame as it was pretty much brand new.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a simple and cheap place to stay whilst in Kota Kinabalu.

What a great place to stay. You've read what others have said so here is a personal summary:

staff brilliant - even those who were new had the right attitude and had been well selected.
rooms enormous - and of a very pleasing quality (we were in a family deluxe).
location - unbeatable.

Gripes - only two really. The interior of the hotel is like a prison (you'll see what I mean when you get there) so any door banging, for example, echoes around the place. Car parking was irksome.

We didn't fret about a lack of restaurant - why would you with Fook Yuen, Old Town White Coffee, Kudos, Little Italy etc all on the doorstep?

Room Tip: Anything overlooking Gaya Street.
