“Lazy staff, horrible services!”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

If you go to Gayang, i recommend Salted Eggs Crab, please don't order seafood fried rice since its actually only prawn fried rice, thats all. 3 visit to this restaurant and thats all i could say.

The most disappointing experienced from dining here is the service. They put the a signage at the entrance saying that they lack of staff, but you can see so many of them in the kitchen which didn't bother to check on the customers. We sat at our table for as good as 30 mins and we wave and wave but the staff just pretend they didnt see.

The food here are just average, price is reasonable but services is definitely horrible. I will stick to kampung air next time.

“Poor service and atmosphere”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

Came here for fresh seafood dinner under the recommendation of Shangri-la Rasa Ria. It's basically a big open air canteen with minimum service.
Clients had to wait in long queue to select the fresh seafood at the counter.
We picked tiger prawn, shrimp, oyster omlette and clams. The cooking style is limited to steamed and stir fried, no grill food available.
The quality of seafood is average, taste is average but service and atmosphere is very poor. Not worth paying 70 ringgits for the taxi fare.

“Food was amazing.”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

I was hunting for a good seafood and what best place than gayang. This was close to rasa ria so thought i would try it. Seating was ok not the best place for dinning but was ok, i ordered pearl of lobster. Scallop and omg lobster was very good scallop was amazing. We were sitting right next to the tables where the food was coming out. What also look good was the crab and prawns and rice. We had abt 5 dishes with drinks which cost around 300 rm, pretty cheap if you ask me. I would go back for sure. Lobster was brilliant.

“Absolutely delicious Seafood”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

Had dinner while on holiday in Kota Kinabalu.
Getting here from the Kota Kinabalu town centre will take you approx 30mins on a good day without traffic.
The seafood here is fresh and cooked well with all the proper seasoning. It may be expensive here but compare it with the price from peninsular Malaysia its sure very cheap,.

“quite nice considering..”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

have lunch at this place in February this year. it is situated at the top of a hill overlooking the sea. view was nice and we were sitting on the verandah. as expected, noon day was quite hot but we enjoyed a breeze from the sea. a change from the busy centre town.

i love the simplicity of the food. ostrich meat with ginger (taste like beef but w/o the cholesterol!), the 'kerang' and prawn. you can choose what to eat from the tanks on display and how you want it to be cooked. service at our time was quite fast considering that the place was quite full..

only drawback for me is the condition of their washroom.. need to be cleaned regularly. need air freshener.
