Stayed for 10 nights on a family holiday with friends it was a great holiday. The pool and slides were great for everyone as we had kids from 2 to 13 and there was something for them all. Highly recommend the kids club the staff are excellent my kids didn't want to leave. Ate at all of the restaurants recommend them all highly, the buffets had something for everyone's tastes, breakfast can be a bit hectic but if you go in early enough it is fine found it was busiest around 8.30am. If you love you beef burgers you have to get a Juicy Lucy or the Sliders from Coco Joe's best burger I have had anywhere. The rooms are basic but comfortable. We caught the shuttle to the other Shangri La Resort and saw the Orangutans at the rescue center and had a day there it is also beautiful. We are already talking about when we will go back definitely gave us a great holiday.

Room Tip: We had a sea view room in the Tanjung wing was great to watch the sunsets on the balcony in the afte...

The resort is not big enough to handle the numbers of guests. Although there are 400+ rooms you would expect about 800 guests, but due to added beds and children sharing rooms, there must have been well over 1000 guests there. Buffet breakfast was a battle - too many guests filling their plates to the full and leaving serving dishes empty for others. The refilling was slow. Drinks - esp bottles of wine in the food outlets - were expensive.

Room Tip: Get a sea view room to see the wonderful sunsets

This is one of the best hotel experiences I have had. Perfect settings. Biggest pool I've seen. Wonderful views of sunset. Food excellent - tried 3 restaurants - all good. Spot on service even at the pool. Can't imagine much better anywhere. Can't wait to go back.

Malaysia's best kept secret. One of the most beautiful hotel properties in the region. Right beside the islands for snorkelling, 20-minutes from the city centre, and 1-hour from the mountains. What more can one ask for?

Just got back from 6 nights at the resort with a bunch of girlfriends.
Great location…10 mins from the airport. Lovely entrance…gives a real feel of the exotic. Wonderful staff…always friendly and keen to help.
Good sized clean rooms…we got to stay in the Clubhouse sea view, twins. Very comfortable bedding. Lovely views over the sea.
Breakfast choice was extensive with a tasty array catering for all tastes and cultures. Very busy though... if you like a quiet breakfast go down early!!
Overall…a great hotel with good facilities. Would stay again.

We first visited this hotel about 16,years ago with our two (then) young sons and I have always wanted to go back. We had the opportunity to do so just after celebrating our birthdays in march and although KK has grown drastically and the hotel has developed more it still holds it's charm and elegance as I always remembered it and the people are so courteous and full of graciousness is what makes this hotel so special. Our room was kept spotlessly clean and the little touches in the rooms like bath robes, slippers, toiletries etc are very pleasurable. We were treated so well and thoroughly spoiled after the hotel found out we had celebrated our birthdays it really made our holiday. The amenities are excellent and you will certainly not go hungry at anytime of the day. Affordable luxury and a real treat in beautiful surroundings. We also took the shuttle bus and visited the Rasa Ria hotel to see the orangutans - well worth a visit!
