Great hotel for £30. All been recently decorated. Rooms are large and simple but with everything you need for a night or two. The most helpful staff encountered. Left bags there while doing a 1 night trip. Left before breakfast but they provided a take away breakfast without asking. Only a 5 min taxi to town centre (or use hotels free mini bus). A real bargain.
Was in KK for a few days, after returning from a short trip to Tawau and Labuan. I had previously stayed at this hotel when it was under the Berjaya Group, and the change it's undergone is nothing short of astounding!! from the outside it looks the same, but once you go inside you realize it's a totally different animal from the last time you stayed there. the lobby area has been completely redone, as has the rooms. out went the old carpets, and worn out funky TV's, and in came flat screens, new air cons that actually work, free WIFI, and just a general revamp of the whole experience, a huge improvement, and a place I would look forward to staying in again.
I was a pleasantly surprise to see such huge difference to this hotel compared to my last visit 10 yrs ago. The new interior makeover definitely got the "wow". My husband and I took up a superior room with breakfast at the cost of RM158, what value for money it was! The new contemporary design of the lobby and the room was well done. The only drawback to the hotel at the time of our visit was that the pool was still under renovation. Our room was simple and trendy, above our minimum requirement. There was even a 32" flat panel LCD tv. The service was excellent. We went down for breakfast at the Tangerine at 9.55am (BF till 10am) only to be greeted by a host of warm smiling faces. Even though it was buffet bf, the waiter offered to bring us coffee/tea & juice, he was attentive enough to replenish our juice too. He even brought us our freshly cooked breakfast (omelet & waffle). So yeah...I'll be back :)
