complaint about the safe deposit box problem and technician confirmed was malfunction. The technician said will replace a functional unit but didn't do it. The room is very old and worst that hotel without star rating.

We noticed that they had newly renovated rooms so we requested an upgrade from the junior suite that we booked. They gave us a free upgrade to their Promenade Deluxe room which was amazing! Everyone should definitely check it out before they finish their renovations and raise their rates!

The staff were really rude. We asked for a half hour extension, and was treated with unnecessary hostility from a member of staff at the front desk. There was another incident in the lift, where a member of staff saw another customer rushing to catch the lift, and decided to press the close door button out of impatience. The toilet in our room does not work. We had to flush the toilet manually. There is also construction work on-going in the building. I understand that this is a budget hotel, but it does not provide even the basic needs of what a hotel guest deserves. Overall, it was a terrible stay and would not recommend this place to anyone else going to Kota Kinabalu.

Been staying here many times, unless it is full booked, then I would stay elsewhere. Feeling convenient and comfortable over time staying here. Eateries, shopping and enjoyment is just minutes away from the hotel. Very popular seafood place is just next door. Minutes away is Warisan Square to get a bit of shopping and food. Bars and night spot is just opposite the hotel at the Kota Kinabalu waterfront. Price is reasonable, service is fine. Rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable, too. Bathroom is good. I always make a point to get the room with the sea view which is great. And not forgetting, breakfast served is quite reasonable, and for some who is lazy to go out, you could visit the in-house pubs and they do have a coffee house to cater for your friends or associate, for coffee or food. When i am in town this is my usual address.

Room Tip: Always ask for a sea view room to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sea and islands of Kota Kinabal...

Check-In after a flight delay of 2 hours, tired and all - alas room door cannot open (key card faulty!) Get down to Reception, waited for 5 minutes before they could give me a new Key Card. No more King Size bed, only Twin, got into the Room arrrgh Smoking Room. So, request for a spray.
Room is dark and dingy and things are very very old. No wonder they are renovating 12th Floor onwards - so imagine from 9am to 5pm - if you are on holiday...the noise!

Book for 2 Nites but after checked in, decided to stay for only 1 nite - managed to get Hyatt.
Hotel rooms are pretty booked-out this week-end with droves of tourist coming to KK from North Asia esp. HK, China, Korea & Japan.

Although on the site it says there is wifi - enabled only in the lobby, and that only sporadically, and when not too many users at a time.
Although we requested non-smoking, the room reeked of cigarettes, apparently the floor used to be smoking.
The air conditioning didn't work properly. Whatever temperature or fan speed was chosen didn't make any difference, the temperature stayed at 19*C. Freezing, had to put a fleece on when entering the room.
Cleanliness was good and so was breakfast.

We stayed for a week in mid May and found it good value for money. Lovely lobby area - only problem being we found it very cold could have done being at least 2 degrees warmer. Very friendly staff and great service. A lot of room refurbishment currently going on.

We'd booked a deluxe sea view room and got the view. The new hotel/shopping complex going up opposite the hotel would certainly mean a lot of the rooms no longer get the sea view. None of the rooms have balconies but as on a busy road would not be peaceful sat outside. Bedroom was clean if a little dated (but have experienced worse). Ample drawer and hanging space and room and ensuite clean. Comfortable bed. Room serviced each day.

Medium size swimming pool with towels available from the fitness/gymnasium reception desk on level 1. The pool faces onto the busy road and although screened off you were always aware of the traffic noise.

The buffet breakfast was reasonable catering for both western and Asian tastes, but is a was a bit spread out.

Good location and a variety of eateries, bars, shops all within a short walking distance especially the foreshore which is across the road virtually has a good selection of bars and restaurants..

Would definitely stay there again.
