I found this restaurant from Tripadvisor reviews and decided to give it a try.
Like the other reviewers said, the place is a bit hard to find. A tip - it's nearby Maybank in Plaza Alamesra.

When we arrived, the place was breezy and they were playing Indonesian gamelan. It was a very nice scene to an otherwise ordinary restaurant. There is also a raised level where people can eat cross legged, and in the rest of the restaurant just normal table and chairs.
There were interesting items on the menu such as Salmon Penyet and Burung (Quail) Penyet.

We ordered Kambing Penyet, Ayam Penyet, Pecel Lele and Sayur Oseng Kosong (Pakis).
They were all very delicious although I think the Kambing Penyet is a bit too sweet. The pakis was very delicious and the Kuey Tiau portion was humongous. Sth a bit different was the rice had chicken flavour in it. The sambal comes in two choices - Super Spicy or Less Spicy. Both were quite delicious, but you have to pay for additional sambal. They didn't have Gado Gado which left me a bit disappointed. Teh Tarik was delicious.

All in all, it was RM62 for 4 dishes and drinks. I think it's an OK price and would come again. I like the breezy area and the music.

It's undeniable that the food is authentic & great but i reckon there's another places which was even better. But the food is definitely nothing to complained about. We saw the place from that JJCM show & decided to try it out. I love the fact that the rice & sambal is freeflow no matter what. But the place is just very confusing. I mean, we got lost for a solid 15min before we can figure out the road at alamesra

Wow... I could say they have the nicest ayam penyet here or overall nicest Indonesian food in KK. Ayam Penyet might always charge a high price anywhere but here, u hv the best 'Sambal' perfectly cooked chicken n nice ambience. It's just the location is quite hidden n not even in downtown KK but is located nearby the 1Borneo, currently the biggest shopping mall here in KK. Should have more reviews then more people will notice this restaurant especially tourist.

We were so happy the first time we stumbled upon this place!!! From the Indonesian music playing in the restaurant to the tables decorated with batik tablecloths. Many places in KK claim to have authentic food from a certain area but after you eat there you are sorely disappointed. Not the case with this great place!!! They even have a section were you can sit on the floor at a table with comfy pillows. This place serves food that is found in Bandung Indonesia. The first time we went we had the kambing penyet and the satay penyet. The satay penyet is skewered on real lemongrass and it really infuses the chicken with the taste of the lemongrass. It is served with a delicious sauce, tempeh, and a homemade sambal that is to die for!!! The kambing penyet was tender, tasty and sooo delicous!!! The rice is delicous and and prepared with some kind of fragrant leaf. They will also refill your rice if you want more. If you are not that hungry the satays' are really good and the nasi impit served with a homemade peanut sauce is delicious!!! We found the service to be really good. The owners are super friendly and helpful. We usually go to this place every few weeks with friends and they are always really friendly and welcoming!!! Our only wish is that this place had dimmer lighting in the evening, maybe candles or just lower the lights a bit for more of an atmosphere. Wherever you are staying in KK this place is definitely worth taking the drive. You will not be disappointed!! They also take reservations. What are you waiting for? Go to Koki Bandung!!!
