We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of April with friends and we had a fantastic time, the food was excellent, we had a problem with the plumbing but no sooner we told management we were upgraded to a suite which was superb. We we're made so welcome and the reserved breakfast and dinner table was such a lovely touch and would not have been as pleasant with out our new found friend Rodney he was just the best. We also found the Manager Alex to be very friendly and approachable and made us very welcome. I would like to thank the head chef for the skim milk which was excellent. Will definitely return in the near future. Cheers and all the best from KK6.

Hello Lilly great to have you at the hotel I have enjoyed our chats with the KK6. Happy to know Rodney and Rahim the chef looked after you and sourced the skimmed milk. Indeed ensuring any special request or preference are accommodated is something we enjoy doing as it make the difference.
Do let me know when you plan to return so that we will be ready for you.
Cheers,

My girl friend and I stayed a total of 3 nights at Le Meridien using our SPG points in April 2011. Overall the hotel is a good choice with very good and attentive service. It probably looks nicer on the outside and in the lobby compared to the rooms which feel a bit tired compared to other Le Meridien hotels (at least our room on the 9th floor).

Location is very good with the night market and waterfront esplanade just outside.

Breakfast was nice and not a complete rip-off at RM30++.

This was my first time in Kota Kinabalu and the Le Meridien, i stayed for 8 nights the location was just right for me as just be for leaving Australia i had an injury to my right knee, so walking distance just across the road was just great.
The breakfast is one of the best i have had (FANTASTIC) I do travel a lot for business and leisure.
My room facing the sea was great.
I used the Starwood Lounge all the time the staff were very friendly and very very courteous.
EXCEEDING ALL OTHERS.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
THANK YOU
Have a nice day

Le Meridien KK is a great choice of hotel if you're looking for a place with pretty good facilities that is close to the many day trips available from KK. The rooms are very spacious and excellent for a family, we had 2 adults and 2 kids (age 7 & 9) in a double room which was very comfortable. The breakfast was a great buffet with a huge choice of generally good quality food, perfect for filling up ahead of a day trip, etc. The pool was very nice, decent size, good lounges around the pool and with a great view that captured the amazing KK sunsets perfectly. The hotel location is in the middle of the town near the waterfront so very close to the markets and the waterfront cafes/bars. It also has a pretty spacious and well equiped gym.

Probably the highlight was the fantastic service from all staff we came across, very friendly and helpful and mostly very efficient. Our kids loved this hotel mainly due to the decent pool, good buffet breakfast and the wonderful staff (especially the concierges and the hotel shop staff).

We'd highly recommend this hotel for those looking for a comfortable central base in KK with easy access to the many day trip options. There are probably better hotels if you're looking for a resort style hotel where you mainly stay at the hotel.

After reading many positive reviews on trip advisor my friend & I decided to stay at the Le Meridien & we were not disappointed. We had just climbed Mt.Kinabalu & wanted to stay somewhere nice especally as it was my girlfriends 50th. We stayed in a deluxe room facing the harbour & wet market & we had a upgrade to the club lounge.
The hotel staff could not have been more attentive. The Hotel is very clean ,awesome location, lovely pool & warm soaking spa for those tired muscles. I can't say enough about the staff They made us feel very special!! We loved staying here & we loved the club lounge. I will be back but this time with my husband!!!!. Thankyou LeMeridien it was worth every penny.

We stay in the Suites overlooking the city view. The room is specious and roomy. The layout design of the room however, is a bit odd. The TV is placed next to the window and always have the glaring lights reflected on. The sofa is half-adjacent to the TV when it should be directly in front of TV. The dining table is in the middle of the room and is the first thing you see after open the door. We just think that the funny layout makes the Suite not as elegant and functional as it should be.

The service here is exceptional. Location is great. Across the street is market. There's shopping mall in walking distance. The local restaurant in the corner has the best red-bean steam bun I ever had.

We had rooms overlooking the harbour and the view was so interesting with all the little boats zipping around all day. The sunsets were amazing - we watched a couple from our room (and a couple more while having a beer beside the water).

We found the staff unfailingly pleasant and professional to deal with and appreciated their help.

The breakfasts were great and our son and his girlfriend who'd been backpacking around Europe and Asia for the past 6 months really appreciated the great start to the day. And my husband, who'd just walked up Mt Kinabalu, enjoyed a few days of being spoilt.

And of course having the night market right below also made the view from the picture window so fascinating - and what a great place to eat dinner! Eating further down on the wharf is also good, cooler but a lot pricier.

Thanks Le Meridien, we now have some great memories of time spent with our son and his girlfriend in Kota Kinabalu in your very nice hotel.

(Only small niggle - why no free wifi in rooms when so many much cheaper hotels can offer this?)

Hello thank you so much for your great feed-back. We are delighted that we have contributed in so many memorable moments for your family. The internet connection remains free in public areas but at this stage chargeable in guest rooms to be consistent across our sister hotels within Starwood Hotels & Resorts. I am sure in the future this could change however we have no indication yet on when that will be.
Looking forward to your next visit.
