I stayed here with a few friends as we travelled through different parts of Asia, This was one of the nicer hotels. The room had two double beds which were comfortable and the room was a good size seeing that three of us stayed there. The bathroom was a great size as well for the room and wasn't to close to the sleeping area as some other hotels. The room also had a view of some of the fishing boats for the local market just outside the hotel. The hotel is in a somewhat overall good location in order to visit the mall about 20 mins away if that and also experience how the locals live. The night market was full of a variety of fresh fish which was cooked in front of you. I went for the banana fish which was slightly sweet and something I never had before. It's an interesting experience if you want to participate. There was also another little market nearby which had little things such as sunglasses and lighters and fake nic nacs. Nothing too interesting in my opinion. The mall down the road is quite big and has lots to see and a few places to eat. There was a KFC and some other food places including a local fast food and some doughnuts. There was also some live singing at night at the hotel which was very asian karaoke with matching outfits. The buffet was nice and lots of choice for meats, fish and desserts. I would stay again as it was close to our harbour to another island for snorkelling and kayaking. Good Location!

stayed in twin room with city view.
location is good with markets n eateries within walking distance
rooms were ready before check in time & staff very polite.

twin room both beds d size of double beds. very spacious room. but I consistent furnishing. our room didn't have bedside lamp another room did. ours had an adjustable mirror in bathroom, the other room didn't. had to call to request luggage rack and tv remote.

bathroom is large with spacious shower cubicle and bathtub. good selection of toiletries. nice shower with good water pressure. laundry line was missing

room was clean enough, but discovered a used cotton bud between my sheets. was too late to ask housekeeping to change sheets as only turned down duvet before crawling in to sleep. that knowledge ruined my sleep. on each bed, one firm & one soft pillow was very thoughtful.

water kettle very clean. 4 bottles of complimentary drinking water was very
good.

wall socket tripped with loud bang when using hair dryer. but response from hotel very quick

pool was nice & clean but deck chairs and shade too scarce

mini bar, room service, coffee lounge, dining, all exorbitantly priced.

overall an OK stay, but expected better from le meridian. good thing I had good corporate rates. otherwise overpriced

A great old hotel with an 80's feel but in a good way. Service and food was fantastic and couldn't bee faulted, nothing was too hard for the staff. I'd highly recommend you pay an extra 30 odd dollars for the sea view executive lounge upgrade. They have a fantastic lounge overlooking the ocean on the top floor and for the price, you get free drinks and snacks between 5 and 7pm and the option of breakfast up there instead of with the crowds downstairs. There's also free coffee and tea all day with small high tea style cakes of many varieties. They have some weird square chairs here that you tend to slide off but the big leather loungers are the go. Indulge yourself.

Complaint: This hotel charges highly for Wi-Fi which, in this day and age, is woeful and really outdated and needs reviewing. NB, it's free if you get the upgrade ( another reason to up the ante)

Room Tip: Make sure you get a Seaview room, it's worth every penny extra. If you can afford the upgrade do it, and before you leave to lock it in. We didn't but I wouldn't risk not getting it next time.

Stayed here for a mixed vacation and business trip with my wife. We chose the hotel primarily because it's member of the Starwood group. We didn't regret our choice. The hotel is well-run. The staff is very well-trained and extremely courteous. Everyone spoke English fluently, so we had no problems communicating our preferences/requests.

The location is fantastic. You can easily walk to any place in downtown KK. True, there is a fish market across from the hotel and the smell does carry over. However, don't be put off by this. Most of the KK waterfront smells like this. And none of the smell gets into the hotel room.

I highly recommend the hotel breakfast buffet. It's reasonably priced and there is a lot of variety to choose from. We also liked that there is a tour desk in the hotel lobby. Immediately after we arrived at night, we were able to book a tour for the next day. Very convenient!

We will definitely be back. This hotel is an excellent choice for anyone who stays in KK for a few days.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are worth it. You get to see spectacular sunsets!
