The pick of the courses to play here. Night golf available if you are really keen and the weather supports this. Not cheap but a very good experience. Buy plenty of balls if you area little wayward as there is water and rough (grass grows quickly in the tropics) aplenty.

Sutera Harbour consists of 27 holes and I recently enjoyed a game on the Lakes and Heritage nines. Graham Marsh has done a good job of presenting an interesting layout with a good mix of memorable holes that require more thinking and placement as opposed to a pure power game. Water comes into play on many holes. The short par fours such as the Lakes (5th and 9th) and Heritage (14th and 16th) present good challenges. The use of a local caddie added to the experience and my man Jun was very knowledgeable and helpful with club selection, and reading the greens (very slow). The practice facilities are good. The food and service at the Terrace cafe was good for a post-game snack. If you are keen on golf in Kota Kinabula, Sutera Harbour is worth a visit.

It is a 27-hole golf course and you are allowed to play until 7PM at night. The rate is much expensive than Karambunai Golf club but it is the nearest to town. There are two resorts next to the golf course. Prefer Pan Pacific as it is more quiet and far from Marina.

Went to play as early as 7AM and came back for breakfast. Left for the town with the shuttle bus by the resorts. Returned from tour before 3PM for night golf.

Caddy and clubs are available for rent. The clubs were not new but okay, at least didn't broke off.

We played this course this past weekend and couldn't believe how poorly run and what awful shape the course is in. We called a week before our arrival and booked a tee time for four. At this time we requested which courses we wanted to play as it has 27 holes and we're told we could play these courses no problem. So we arrived and come to find out they had booked a tournament that day and were told we would have to play the same 9 twice and the course they put us on was the one we didn't request to play.

The course is in awful shape greens need to be rolled and cut pitch marks fixed cause your ball bumped down your line. The fairways and rough were full of weeds and needed a grooming. How hard is it to run a mower down your fairways. Won't even get into the driving range! The carts were in horrible shape they had bungee cords to hold your bag the brakes didn't work and we were running out of power by the 15th hole.

Keep in mind we are golfing in Asian the temperature is well over 35 C so we come to the snack house after the first 9 and want COLD drinks and ICE. But instead we got WARM drinks and NO ice. Tell me how hard is it for this person to go to the club house and get some ice to make sure the drinks are cold!! Or have someone bring the ice in a golf cart. Lord knows there are enough employees sitting around absolutely nothing!! I just don't get it!!

We as golfing tourists in Asian need to start holding these golf courses to better standards. This course was not cheap 130 US plus cart and caddy. We all need to start writing BAD reviews and STOP playing these courses that are not up to what they are charging us. If you want to charge that kind of money start managing and maintaining your course. DO NOT PLAY this course it is in awful shape!!
