Fairy Caves and Wind Caves from Kuching City
Ranked #26 of 101 things to do in Kuching
Attraction details
Reviewed 26 August 2014

The cave are quite impressive as well as their guests (bats). It is a marvel of nature, very big and worthwhile to be visited. Moreover there are several cave in the tour to be visited, please visit all you will find a real gems. Bring with you a torch in the park it is quite difficult to rent one (maybe because I was there during the low season). The place could be reached by bus from Kuching, you get off at Baku bazaar and then take a taxi (30 ringit). I suggest you to ave an agreement with your taxi driver in order to pick up you when you finish the visit otherwise you'll be stuck in the park or you have to do 11 km to the city.

The Wind Caves were OK,if you are in the area they are probably worth a visit but not worth a special trip....unless it is the wet season & then they would probably be quite spectacular. A torch is a necessity as are reasonable shoes.

Loved it. Small, uncommercialised, helpful friendly staff.

Thousands of bats, six or seven species and hundreds of swiftlets, we found two species but there are probably more.

We were not there at dusk but the mass evening evacuation must be spectacular.

I like the trees along the way to Wind Caves. The cave itself was dark inside and be cautious of your footstep. Do not forget to bring your torch light and wear sport shoe as it was quite slippery inside the cave. I saw bats inside the cave with its sound of inviting and welcoming us to the cave. Hahaha!

This cave is dark. You need a torchlight to see the walkway, the cave formations, the bird nests, and the bats in the cave. The walkway is wide and easy.
