Modern hotel in a good central location at a decent price. Close to chinatown, the river and shopping. Tourist office and Bako park office is 5-10 min walk. Great showers with lots of hot water. You have to buy A/C credits for the room if you want it. Our a/c didn't work but we were ok with the fan and they refunded us. One seriously annoying thing is that the wireless isn't transferrable between laptop and iPhone. I bought 24hours of wireless, logged on with my iPhone only to find that I couldn't later log on with my laptop. The code only applies to one device. Dumb.

Very nice and clean. Check inn time is very strict! Do not arrive before 14.00. The windows are paper thin, so get a room away from the street. You can hear normal conversation on the street in your room. Avoid the rooms at ground floor. The noice from the lobby is very loud and annoying. Very good beds, but short for europeans. You pay for the AC you use, so 24 hours may be enough for a 48 hour stay. WIFI however is paid from the minute you log on, so you shoud get 48 hours wifi for a 48 hour stay. Great shower.

My sister stayed here previously and strongly recommended the hotel, although I was wary of other reviews which said negative things. However, having stayed for at least three weeks I can most definitely say that I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at what was an excellent price (approximately £11 per night).

The room itself was a double room, unfortunately there was no wardrobe so I had to live out of my suitcase but that was ok as there were two bedside tables. The bathroom was very nice and the shower had hot water. Although there was housekeeping this did not
include hoovering the floor. Air con is an additional extra that you need to pay for but I found the fan already there to be sufficient. They don't do your laundry here though but there are two laundrettes within 2 minutes walking distance.

Location wise this place is fantastic, just turn right and go down the road and you're at the Waterfront. They don't organise any tours but the tourist info is not far from there. For local amenities: -

- there are also many cheap places to eat nearby, for breakfast go behind the hotel and look for a roti vendor where you can get roti for only RM2!
- I had a car and parking was initially a hassle because of the restrictions in Kuching, however during my stay they struck a deal with the underground car park behind the hotel where you pay a flat rate of RM2.50 everytime you park there.
- there's an cheap Internet cafe behind the hotel.

Overall I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Kuching. It may be no frills and yes there are some very nice lodges where you can stay for cheaper but having travelled a lot this time round to other places I can say this was the best hotel I stayed at.

Great Location, Wonderful Bed, Good Price! No parking space, bit noisy because of the pub next door. Generally Room is well kept and clean. Internet is not free in the room :(. Check out time is a bit early, by 10am. Toilet is a bit stinky!

All travellers that have experienced Tune know that the rooms are compact, the showers are great, as is the ceiling fan and level of cleanliness. They know there is real value to be had and that to pay the small amount to have A/Cond is worth it. Kuching's Tune is no exception, and right in the heart of town virtually on the Waterfront, makes it as good buy! Location in fact is just accross from the (expensive) Hilton! Staff were fine, and the 4 nights there well worth while.
We agree the Cultural Village was a must - take a car-driver hire for 5 hours or so in preference to a tour, same for Bako N.Pk, but at low tide, be ready to wade to shore. No real mozzie problems there, but tracks are rough.
We felt 4 nights in Kuching enough unless you plan to go much further inland.

The location is very good around waterfront but the room quite shocking... so small. I got single room with old shops view and lucky me didnt really hear noise at night.
The staff quite friendly, two thumbs up for the security and one of the cafe staff.

Kuching is a very nice city, little bit quite but enjoyable. Bako National Park is a must visit place. Cant wait to go there again for trekking.

The tune is a budget hotel and they state that in the websites and tell you exactly what you get for what you pay for, The building itself is reasonably new and located in the centre of Kuching near the river with shops, food courts etc within short walking distance.
The rooms are small and basic with extras like aircon available at an extra cost but all rooms have bathrooms and fans and reasonably comfortable beds.
The staff are friendly and helpful but are mainly young and seemed to lack knowledge of what you can do and seen in Kuching which is a wonderful city.
Biggest issue with this hotel as others have mentioned is the noise from the nightclub located in the hotel building which can be very annoying
