“Great Value and Personal Service”
Reviewed 24 July 2011

My four sons and I stayed at the LimeTree a few weeks ago on the way home to Australia from Bali. Not being one for huge hotels and preferring smaller, boutique hotels that offer a more personalised experience, I found The LimeTree through Trip Advisor and what a great choice I made. Via a few emails beforehand, Serinah and staff made the stay so pleasant and had thoroughly and efficiently organised everything for us from hotel transport to tours to the Orangutans and a local village for the day.

My twins turned 15 while we were there and again, a restaurant was recommended for lunch and booked and a birthday cake arranged and delivered by the hotel.

The rooms are extremely well presented and fresh with a lime theme throughout. We took the family suite which I highly recommend for the room and view of the river alone even if you are not travelling with children, it's more spacious.

As a CEO in my own company, travelling for work can be quite a chore but throw four boys into a holiday mix and it certainly is a handful. However, based on the staff, service and easy walking proximity of The LimeTree, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel or stay here again. My one original concern in staying with my family was that the hotel didn't have a pool, but overall my boys didn't have time to even think about it.

The Lime Tree is a smallish hotel that is within easy walking distance of the river and many of the other sights in Kuching. We walked all over the city. We found the breakfast delicious. My favorite was the Laksa...amazing! We arranged for tours through the hotel. They lined us up with a guide named Billy. He was great. We went to Bako National park and also to see the Orang utans. For what it's worth, we saw more Orang utans here than we did at the center in Sabah. We loved all the lime products...especially the limeade.

booked at the Limetree as a result of other reviews. we weren't disappointed. booked a family room at a very reasonable rate. the room was very big, with a king size bed large bathroom and plenty of space. as part of the family room there was an adjoining room with a double and another smaller bathroom. Breakfast was satisfactory, not fantastic. the food was fresh and there was plenty however not a huge variety. we booked directly with the hotel for 3 nights but after a day trip to Damai Beach were keen to spend a night there. the Limetree was very accommodating and we got our night at Damai. thanks to the Limetree for a great stay.

Staff were extremely helpful in directing us to he highlights of Kuching and arranging for reliable transport to and from the airport. It was conforting to know the staff were looking out for us so well, especially when I discovered that I'd left valuables in our room in our rush to depart to the airport. Staff promptly mailed the items to my next destination.

*Four of us stayed from 25 June to 28 June 2011. Refreshing LIME theme hotel with modern minimalist look, which is appealing.
*Room - LIME colour decor, clean, comfortable with good mattress and bedsheets. Start your day with the LIME scented liquid soap/shampoo in bathroom. Room key-card to activate lift access to rooms is a good security feature. Good quality room slippers, which you'll find only in 5 stars hotels.
*Convenient location to waterfront, eateries etc.
*Buffet breakfast with Sarawak's signature laksa is good. Bought interesting LIME products from their gift shop.
*Staff is helpful, attentive and accommodating. We booked the Superior Room for first night and Deluxe Room for the next two nights. We decided to stay in Superior Room throughout as it is larger but without window. LIMETREE accommodated us and charge us Superior Room rate.
*Concierge service is much appreciated in getting to sights of Sarawak.
*We'll be back.

I have stayed in this hotel past week, it was just a leisure trip to kuching let me explain to you what i felt about this hotel:

Airport Transfer:
Was on time, driver waiting for us with a van at kuching airport, he was also kind enough to drop us at supermarket to shop.

Check in:
Was a breeze, front desk was not busy. Takes about 5mins to check in.

The Room:
It was very clean! well accommodated space, although it wasn't too spacy but its still fine, the cable TV is very clear with 10channels available. Priced at RM160 its a good deal to get rooms with window. Just that the soundproofing in this hotel NOT very good. You can hear people talking(if loud) outside or the room beside. Toilet comes with basic shampoo, soap & towel.

Hotel Breakfast:
They serve sarawak laksa(Must Try), fruits , bread, rice, curry, kuihs some basic malaysian breakfast. Be sure to be early otherwise this place will be packed as it isnt that large. Service was good at this cafe.

Hotel Location:
I Didnt realise this hotel is about 500-700m far from kuching waterfront. In kuching taxis are very difficult toget and very expensive(no meter used) if you walk down ,it may take you about 15-20mins. I Wish i had a hotel nearer to waterfront as it has tourist visiting spot & good restaurant. This hotel wasnt too far, but for your convinience find hotel nearer to waterfront! and never get hotel far away from city centre if you DONOT have own transport. And parking is very limited.

Overall:
This hotel is worth its rates, its very comfortable & cosy. You will feel secured &privacy here rather than some cheap budget motels. Just that i feel the Price for airport transfer RM25/way is a little expensive.
